Coupe Mondiale Round II
In Round II, contestants were required to perform an original work for accordion. Seven contestants performed, of which five were taken through to the next Round. Pictured is the First Place Trophy for the Coupe Mondiale World Accordion Championships, which was kindly donated by the National Accordion Association of the United Kingdom.

Of these seven, five have be passed to the final round, which will be held on Saturday afternoon at neighbouring St. Johns Church, Harrow. The final candidates are:

The second round of the Junior Coupe Mondiale saw the candidates perform two more works. One work an original work, and the second an own choice piece with a playing time of minimum 10 minutes and maximum 15 minutes.

Only the second year this category has been offered, it is already obvious that this class is a tremendous success. Judges were presented with eight candidates that performed an own choice program consisting of more than two (2) pieces of different styles and moods. (Playing time: max. 12 minutes). Alexander Dimitriev - St. Petersburg in Concert in London
In celebration of his 50 years birthday, Alexander Dimitriev presented a recital to the Coupe Mondiale attendees. A teacher of the accordion in St. Petersburg, Russia, Mr Dimitriev has performed over 2000 concerts around the world.

His program included:

Mr Dimitriev received a standing ovation from the enthusiastic audience, and performed several encores.
