25th Accordion Winter Cruise with 2,000 Guests - Finlandby Kimmo Mattila |

  The famous and super popular 23-hours Winter Accordion Cruise from Finland to Sweden last week was once again a very big success. This years cruise was the 25th time, that some 2,000 accordion players and enthusiasts meet on board for concerts, performances, playing, dancing and singing. The cruise ship ”Baltic Princess” was loaded with 2000 accordionists, their families and friends. The highlight of the cruise is the Semifinals of the Golden Accordion and Silver Accordion competitions for young players. The boat cruise is organised annually in March by the Sata-Häme Soi Accordion Festival and Finnish Accordion Association. The finalists of the Silver Accordion (up to 10 years) are: Aleksanteri Avdouevski, Helmi Hyrske, Johannes Koivisto, Seela Rekola, Lumia Sairberg, Anna Tukkimies, Ville Vehkalahti and Eelis Vuorela. The finalists of the Golden Accordion are:Jegor Aleksejev, Ella Elomäki, Iikka Korpela, Anniina Luukkainen, Oskari Pukkala and Lauri Tuomisto. The jury on the boat: Markku Lindeman, Sirpa Kainulainen, Niko Kumpuvaara and Viivi Maria Saarenkylä. |
