Campbell Bettridge

Campbell started playing the accordion at the age of 8, progressing quickly through exams and achieving grade 8 at the age of 15. He currently holds an Accordion Teachers Diploma and is an Associate of the Institute of Registered Music Teachers.

Past teachers include Donna Riethmann, Harley Jones and Tatiana Lanchtchikova. Campbell was New Zealand Champion in 1993, 1994 and 2001 and well as South Pacific Champion 1993.

Campbell has represented New Zealand three at the Coupe Mondiale World Accordion Championships. In 2002 he came third in the Piano Accordion section; the highest ever placing by a New Zealander.

Along with other competition success, Campbell has toured four times with the Air New Zealand Accordion Orchestra. Other performance highlights have been festivals in North America, Beijing and St Petersburg.
