Caprice

Named after their theme piece "Caprice" by New Zealand composer Gary Daverne, Caprice has established themselves as a highly skilled group of musicians.

This group frequently performs locally in Auckland, and key highlights since they began in 1999 include a concert tour of the North Island and an appearance on National Television. With a varied programme of light classical and easy listening music, this ensemble offers audiences an appreciation of the accordion that challenges traditional accordion perceptions.

All the players are recognised musicians both nationally and internationally, through both performing and teaching. Within the group are past New Zealand Accordion Champions, and New Zealand representatives in international competitions. All are past members of the internationally recognised Air New Zealand Accordion Orchestra.

Caprice would like to take this opportunity to thank Gary Daverne, the directors of the North Shore Accordion Orchestra, Titano Accordions (NZ) Ltd and the Music Education Centre for their on-going support.
