The New Zealand Accordion Association (NZAA) would like to invite you to Nagigia Island Resort, Fiji for the 117th CIA General Assembly of Delegates and Winter Congress and an opportunity of a lifetime to visit one of the most beautiful places on the earth.

Up to two CIA delegates per Voting/Corresponding association and all CIA Executive and Music Committee will have free accommodation, food and entertainment at beautiful Nagigia Island Resort during this event. The island has wonderful snorkeling, swimming, diving, surfing and many other activities offered in a warm tropical climate.

To travel to Fiji, you fly to Nadi International Airport, in Fiji. Information on prices and airlines serving Fiji are:
  • Korean Air from 7 destinations in Europe (London, Amsterdam, Paris, Frankfurt, Prague, Rome) plus Turkey, Moscow, Cairo, Dubai, Korea, China and Japan.
  • Air New Zealand from New Zealand, London, Los Angeles with connections to Europe with the Star Alliance.
  • Air Pacific and Qantas from Australia, New Zealand and Los Angeles, Japan. Qantas from Europe and United code share with Air Pacific and Qantas from the USA to Fiji.
  • Virgin Blue from Australia - connected with Virgin Air from Europe.
  • Approximate travel cost from London to Nadi round trip is € 1,100
  • Approximate travel cost from Los Angeles, USA to Nadi round trip is about US $800

Delegates should arrange their international travel to arrive in Nadi, FIJI on Tuesday 23 January, 2007 no later than 10:00 AM. (In order to meet this deadline, this may require an overnight stay on the night before, which is the financial responsibility of the attendee, however Nagigia Island will be happy to help arrange your Hotel stay should it be necessary.)

At midday, (12:00 hours) on 23 January, we will fly from Nadi International Airport to Vunisea Airport, Kadavu Island which is near Nagigia Island. I will book the flight for everyone with SunAir. This flight is sponsored. From Vunisea Airport, we travel by small boat down the coast to Nagigia Island.

During your days at Nagigia Island, there will be social and musical activities each evening additional to CIA meetings and CIA subcommittee activities. Fijian culture is very strong in this isolated traditional village area with wonderful singing and dancing a feature of the area.

Nagigia Island Resort is also one office of Accordions Worldwide with many Internet accordion activities happening there, that you should find very interesting.

You will depart Nagigia Island, Sunday the 28th of January arriving in Nadi no later than 6:30 PM. Accommodation in Nadi may be necessary, depending upon your international flight departure time, and once again is your responsibility, however Nagigia Island Resort will be happy to assist with hotel bookings for those needing accommodation at either the beginning or end of their stay.

Everything will be done to arrange a great time for you at Nagigia Island which will be reserved exclusively for CIA use. You are invited to come and enjoy one of the most beautiful natural islands on the planet!

General Information

Nagigia Island is situated at Cape Washington and is about one (1) km off the South West tip of Kadavu Island, Fiji. Its position is virtually due south of Suva, the capital of Fiji. The map co-ordinates of Nagigia Island are 178°E 19°S and the local time is GMT plus 12 hours.

The climate is tropical and oceanic with sea breezes making for excellent conditions. Water temperature is ideal for surfing and swimming. Water temperature varies from 24-29°C (78-84°F).

South-east Trade Winds prevail; day temperatures range from 20-30°C (70-85°F) and humidity is approximately 65%.

Fiji is within easy nonstop flying distance of all the Pacific Rim countries and serviced by Air Pacific, Air New Zealand, Korean Airlines, Virgin Blue, Freedom Air and code sharing airlines with Air Pacific are United and Qantas.

Nagigia Island has modern communications available including satellite high speed Internet, E-mail, satellite TV, fax and phone services.

In addition to the picturesque vistas of the neighboring King Kong mountain, surrounding Coral Reefs and white sand beaches, Nagigia offers interesting walks, village visits and sightseeing.

For those wishing to experience the world class fishing, surfing and other activities, Nagigia offers:
