 Results for the 24th Amadeus Austrian Music Awards were announced at the live finals held at the Vienna Volkstheater in Vienna, Austria on April 26th, 2024. The awards were presented by the President of Austria, Alexander van der Bellen. Melissa Naschenweng won the Folk Music category. Hubert von Goisern (picture right) was honored with the Amadeus Award for Lifetime Achievement for his multifaceted work as well as his engagement with and effect on the music world - and far beyond. "The variety in his work, the diverse influences from other cultures and the messages he conveys through his music make Hubert von Goisern a unique artist, who has had a lasting impact on the Austrian music industry," explained Dietmar Lienbacher, President of the Association of the Austrian Music Industry, on the awarding of the Lifetime Achievement Amadeus.   The AAA has announced its 86th anniversary festival in West Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, in the Philadelphia area.   ¡La orquesta está de gira por Europa!Así es, la Orquesta Nacional de Acordeones de Chile ONACH, ha sido invitada a representar a Chile en Serbia, Suiza e Italia. El director de la ONACH es Joaquín Muñoz Donoso, foto izquierda. Un grupo de 16 integrantes viajará con un repertorio de música chilena, folclórica, popular y contemporánea. Viajaremos del 09 al 24 de mayo a Serbia, Suiza e Italia donde realizaremos conciertos, charlas, intervenciones urbanas, talleres y demostraremos la cultura del Acordeón Chileno. En Serbia, Novi Sad, participarán en el Festival Eufonija organizado por Dragana Kuzmanovic. En Suiza, Sempach, participarán en el Encuentro de Orquestas de Acordeón organizado por Yvonne Glur. En Italia, Castelfidardo, está prevista una visita a la ciudad del acordeón y 3 conciertos diferentes. |

 Que faites vous la Journée de l’accordéon (World Accordion Day - WAD) pour promovoir l’accordéon dans votre pays ?La journée de l’accordéon est le 6 mai, qui est le jour où l’accordéon a été inventé en 1829. La journée de l’accordéon a été créé en 2009 par le CIA et a rencontré beaucoup de succès depuis, donnant une image positive de l’accordéon. Un des maillons essentiels de cet évènement est le site web de la Journée de l’accordéon. Chaque association, groupe, orchestre, joueur ou enseignant sont priés de soutenir activement cet évènement en proposant ce jour-là, dans leur pays, des activités nationales et locales autour de l’accordéon. Cela peut s’organiser aussi le week end d’avant ou après si c’était plus commode. Chacun peut inscrire son activité pour la journée de l’accordéon sur le site web et envoyer a posteriori un compte rendu qui sera publié sur le site. Aucun évènement n’est trop gros ou ni trop petit. Tous les évènements liés à l’accordéon pour célébrer la journée de l’accordéon seront les bienvenus. C’est une campagne organisée par le Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes (CIA) pour l’accordéon où tout féru d’accordéon peut participer, le but étant de renforcer les liens de la communauté autour de l’accordéon et de promouvoir l’instrument. |

| Un monde d'accordéons célébrera la Journée mondiale de l'accordéon 2024 et le festival Dr. Willard A. Palmer les samedi et dimanche 4 et 5 mai 2024, au musée A World of Accordions, à Superior, Wisconsin. Nous rendrons hommage à George Curletto, un innovateur de l'accordéon, à Willard A. Palmer III, fils du Dr Willard Palmer, et au professeur émérite Joan Cochran Sommers. Le week-end comprendra un concert gratuit le jeudi 2 mai 2024, à 18 heures, de la musicienne pour enfants de Kansas City, Janie Next Door® - également connue sous le nom d'accordéoniste Jane Christison. Le concert est une manière de célébrer le festival local du Home Grown Museum. Vendredi soir, le 3 mai 2024, à 19h30, le groupe de musique d'accordéon et concertina et ses amis (tous ceux qui souhaitent apporter un accordéon et jouer) répéteront de la musique d'accordéon du monde. Veuillez envoyer un e-mail à info@worldofaccordions.org si vous venez et souhaitez que de la musique vous soit envoyée par e-mail. Le samedi 4 mai 2024 commence à 10h00 avec un accueil, des présentations et la possibilité de poser à Helmi Harrington Ph.D. toutes les questions liées à l'accordéon et de découvrir comment elle a lancé le projet A World of Musée des accordéons. L'après-midi comprend une première mondiale du documentaire sponsorisé par l'ATG (Accordionists & Teachers Guild, International), « Un monde d'accordéons ». . . un héritage Harrington. Il y aura un atelier de Joan C. Sommers, une performance de la Chicagoland Accordion Academy, dirigée par Mary Ann Covone, et une performance de l'ACM Band and Friends avant de prendre la pause pour le dîner. Le dîner se terminera par une performance de Mike Middleton & the Middletones, qui sera certainement une soirée amusante. Le dimanche 5 mai 2024 aura lieu un service de polka non confessionnel avec Mike Middleton & the Middletones. Si vous n’y êtes jamais allé, des hymnes familiers sont joués sous forme de polkas ou de valses. Dansez dans l'allée, chantez ou apportez votre accordéon et participez au spectacle. Willard A. Palmer III parlera de son père, le Dr Willard A. Palmer de renommée Palmer-Hughes. Après le déjeuner, George Curletto parlera des concepts innovants d'accordéon. Jane Christison – Music With A Smile® – jouera de la musique du monde entier aux côtés de Kevin Friedrich. Dee Langley dirigera une répétition de la musique des Beatles, alors apportez votre accordéon et rejoignez-nous. Après la répétition, il y aura une courte représentation pour interpréter les morceaux qui viennent d'être appris. L'événement sera couronné par un toast de célébration.  World Accordion Day (WAD) celebrations will be held for the 3rd time at Waller's Coffee Shop in Decatur, Georgia, USA on May 4th, 2024 from 12 midday to 4pm.Performers include Mark Lamback, Jake Herzog, Charles Voorhees, Kyle Turner, Larry Burke, Timmer Family and the Matt Kaminski Trio.  Tickets are now on sale for the Appaloosa Music Festival, held at the Skyline Ranch Resort in Front Royal, Virginia, USA on Labor Day Weekend, August 31st to September 1st, 2024.This Roots music festival is hosted by “Scythian” which includes accordionist Dan Fedoryka.  Ingunn Bjørgo will release her newest single “Cadansa Mazurka – Live in Oslo”, on May 10th, 2024. Her single “AskerLadd Goes Astray – Live in Oslo” was released on April 12th, 2024.The singles also serve as teasers from Ingunn's new album set to be released in 2025. Ingunn Bjørgo is a well-known composer and an award-winning musician on diatonic and chromatic accordions. The new singles are based on live recordings where Ingunn and the diatonic accordion are featured, accompanied by Sindre Tronrud (Hardanger fiddle), Jostein Hillestad (bass), and Åsmund Reistad (guitar/mandolin).  Ben De Souza (BMus (Hons) RAM, MMus Cantab - picture left) is the accordion and concertina adjudicator at the Sevenoaks Three Arts Festival competition held at the Walthamstow Hall Senior School in Sevenoaks, Kent, England on June 9th, 2024.The competition will include a variety of age group classes for soloists, duos, groups and orchestras, plus categories for entertainment, own composition and non-competitive classes. Special awards: • The Accordion World Magazine Challenge Trophy: for the most outstanding solo/duet performance in the Accordion Section • The David Keen Memorial Trophy: for the highest mark gained in a performance by three or more accordion players |

 Video: Coba Performing his own composition "Sara" with Ryotaro Imai (keyboards) at the 10th anniversary live concert of Ryotaro Imazaki Major Debut, held at the Hall of Music Cotton Club in Japan.Coba is currently in the process of recording a new album and in the next few days, an advance single will be released. In the meantime, Coba will perform the single live on the Yomiuri TV "Wake Up" program on May 4th. The program begins at 8 am. |

| The Romano Viazzani Ensemble will perform “A Night of Argentinian Tango” concert at the 45th Newbury Spring Festival, at The Corn Exchange in Newbury, West Berkshire. England on May 18th, 2024, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. “Based on the line up of Astor Piazzolla’s famous quintet, the ensemble recreates music that ranges from Piazzolla’s own works to classic Argentine and European tango. They also arrange music in the style of tango and write their own original tango-inspired music with a twist of swinging London.” Their performance will include professional tango dancers Mina and Giraldo.
