Eric Bouvelle Dancing Afternoon, Juillenay – Franceby Rob Howard |
On Sunday December 2nd, 3pm, accordionist Eric Bouvelle and his orchestra perform for an afternoon of dancing that also includes a meal at Le Blue D’Avau Chez Jose, Juillenay. Eric’s wife Sandra will be the orchestra’s vocalist. Juillenay is a commune in the Côte-d'Or department in eastern France. Eric Bouvelle, born in 1958, is one of France’s most accomplished and admired accordionists. As a boy was taught by Maurice Larcange as part of his ‘prodigies’ scheme, and in his youth he toured Finland with Marcel Azzola, and also played for a French ball in Copenhagen for the Prince of Denmark. Jo Privat was also a major influence at this time. In 1988 Eric Bouvelle won the Virtuoso Entertainment competition at the CIA Coupe Mondiale held in Trossingen, Germany. Since then he has toured internationally, appeared on radio and TV in France many times, composed many pieces for accordion, and has made many recordings. |
