World Music Festival Innsbruck Postponed Until 2023 - Austria

WMF logoDHVThe World Music festival organised by the Deutscher Harmonika-Verband e.V (DHV), which takes place every three years in Innsbruck, has been postponed for one year due to the Corona pandemic. The event will now take place from 18th to 21st May 2023.

This gives participating ensembles and musicians sufficient time to prepare, which would not have been possible if the event was held on the original date in 2022, due to the current rehearsal limitations of the Corona pandemic.

DHV President Jochen Haußmann says, “For over a year, our clubs have not been able to teach and rehearse, or only to a limited extent. Unfortunately, the currently increasing number of infections does not give hope for an early return to rehearsal operations.…..
both the DHV and all players are very much looking forward to this 2023 highlight of making music together.”

The Harmonikaverband Österreichs (HVÖ) will host its “Day of Harmonica” for the first time in 2023 as part of the World Music Festival. Several thousand visitors are expected to attend this multifaceted festival in Innsbruck to experience performances of orchestras and ensembles from all over the world.
