Jacques Mornet & Nathalie Boucheix Now Teaching at Prestigious Schola Cantorum, Paris - France.

CNIMA logo
Jacques Mornet and Nathalie BoucheixThe Schola Cantorum, possibly the greatest private music school in France, is a kind of French equivalent of the Juilliard School, USA. It has been founded in 1890 by famous French musicians of that time among whom was Vincent d’Indy.

Some students’s names, whom many have become teachers in the Schola Cantorum include: Issac Albeniz, Georges Auric, Alfred Cortot, Maurice Durufflé, Alexandre Lagoya, Lily Laskine, Olivier Messiaen, Darius Milhaud, Cole Porter, Eric Satie, Edgar Varèse, Serge Gainsbourg, ...

Seeing accordion steadily enjoying a larger place on the world’s stages and broadcasts, in light music, folk, classical and contemporary music, decided Michel Denis, Director of the Schola Cantorum, to create an accordion class for all styles.

Michel Denis asked Jacques Mornet and Nathalie Boucheix, the founders of the famous CNIMA accordion school, and now Jacques and Nathalie will share their time between the Auvergne Natural Volcanoes Park area and the french capital.

Courses have started in November 2013 and no doubt, students of Schola Cantorum will in the future enjoy similar successes to those at CNIMA who have won many international competitions.
