3eme Festival Strumenti & Musica, Spoleto - Italieby Davide Fabrizi |

 Les artistes et les concurrents de la Nouvelle-Zélande, Italie, Serbie, Royaume-Uni, la Russie, la Slovaquie et la Finlande ont participé à la troisième édition de ce festival. Plus de 2500 entrées, 9 jours de musique, dont 7 concerts, 2 récitals, 2 galas, un événement de musique populaire et près des meilleurs 100 accordéonistes, italiens et internationaux, répartis en 6 catégories de compétition, a assisté au 3e Festival Strumenti & Musica. L'association culturelle IAC (Italian Accordéon Culture) en collaboration avec l'édition et l'enregistrement Ars Spoletium a organisé le 3ème Strumenti & Musica Festival de Spolète, du 15 au 23 mai, qui a pris fin avec un concert du vainqueur en 2009 de la Coupe Mondiale Grayson Masefield (Nouvelle-Zélande). «Cette année, le festival a connu une percée remarquable" - a dit le directeur artistique Mirco Patarini - «pas seulement en ce qui concerne la fréquentation a augmenté enregistrées au Teatro Nuovo, le Teatro Caio Melisso et du café pendant le concert, mais surtout pour le niveau des participants et des performances artistiques dans cette troisième édition. " Il y avait six catégories de compétition: Senior Classic, Junior, senior Virtuoso, Virtuoso Junior (15 ans et moins, 12 ans et moins). Le jury international présidé par Lech Puchowski (Pologne) et la CIA président Raymond Bodell (Royaume-Uni), Mika Väyrynen (Finlande), Frédéric Deschamps (France) Alexander Selivanov (Russie), Romano Viazzani (Royaume-Uni), Alexandar Nicolich (Aleksandar Nikolic Serbie) Angeloni et Patrizia (Italie). Résultats: Samuel Telara (1ère place, Junior Classic) et Angelo Miele (2ème place, Senior Classic) sont les deux joueurs d'accordéon italien, qui sera parrainé par l'Association Culturelle IAC (Voyage, logement et nourriture) pour participer à la Mondiale Coupé 2010 qui se tiendra par la CIA (Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes) à Varazdin (Croatie) du 19 au Octobre 2010 25. Les autres gagnants inclus Grayson Masefield (Senior Senior Classique et Virtuoso), Matthew Marinelli (Junior Virtuoso), Michael Toppo (Virtuoso 15 ans et moins) et Fausto Crediddio (Virtuoso 12 ans et moins). «La participation de Maestro Nicola Piovani, Mika Väyrynen (Finlande) considéré par beaucoup comme le meilleur artiste contemporain concert de musique classique, concerts de champions du monde en Grayson Masefield (Nouvelle-Zélande) et Petar Maric (Serbie) et la présence de tant de nations» - dit Mirco Patarini - «encouragé l'Association culturelle IAC à accepter d'hébergement de la CIA Coupe Mondiale championnats internationaux d'accordéon qui se tiendra à Spoleto en 2012. L'association culturelle IAC a déjà commencé la préparation, de sorte que la ville de Spoleto peuvent se préparer de la meilleure façon pour ce grand événement. " "De toute évidence les réalisations culturelles de la fête en seulement trois ans ne sont pas atteints seul» - a ajouté le président de la CCI Association Culturelle, Gianluca Bibiana - «Il ya de nombreuses institutions et sponsors que nous tenons à remercier pour leur aide". | L'Université du Missouri à Kansas City (UMKC) Community Accordion Orchestra Communauté Accordion Orchestra, sous la direction de Joan C. Sommers, joué devant un public enthousiaste, ils ont présenté leur 49e concert annuel à l'Université. De la scène à la fois des œuvres originales et transcriptions, le programme du concert comprenait: Sérénade en mi majeur, op. 22 '(Antonín Dvořák), «Sur la trace de la Suite Grand Canyon» (Ferde Grofé), "Ballade pour Orchestre d'Accordéon" (Fritz Dobler), «Adios Nonino", "Close Your Eyes and Listen», «Cité Tango' (Astor Piazzolla), «L'épopée Star Wars" (John Williams), «Tango Fugitativo» et «Milonga Feliz (Gerie Daanen), Medley de" Wicked "(Stephen Schwartz) et« La Polka Blackbird »(Vladimir Ouchakov). Pour les œuvres d'Astor Piazzolla, l'orchestre a été rejoint par les champions français National de la Danse, Louis Bar et Laura Cantu, et les membres de leur studio de danse basée à Kansas City, qui a ébloui le public avec leurs danses spectaculaires. En outre, une vidéo préparée par le professeur UMKC Horsmon Caitlin a été projeté en toile de fond à la musique et la danse. La Communauté UMKC Accordion Orchestra est due à célébrer leur 50e anniversaire au cours d'un week-end des concerts de la Réunion spéciale des anciens membres de l'orchestre et les amis, le 22 mai 2011.  Le dimanche 23 mai la 32e édition de la «AMA Calabria» Concours de musique national a eu lieu à Lamezia Terme. Ce concours a pour plus de 30 ans présenté des milliers de jeunes musiciens une occasion importante de se rencontrer et d'échanger des idées, de la musique et des compétences. Dans la section «musique contemporaine» le jeune accordéoniste Tommaso Arena, un élève du Maestro Mario Pietrodarchi Stefano, a été acclamé comme le vainqueur. Son programme de la littérature originale pour accordéon, y compris les pièces de Frank Angelis et Fermin Gurbindo, a convaincu le jury. Tommaso Arena - nés en 1987, a commencé à jouer de l'accordéon à l'âge de 6 ans, et est diplômé avec mention du Conservatoire «Valentia Fausto Torrefranca, Vibo. Il a participé à de nombreux stages, compétitions, concerts et festivals, toujours susciter un grand intérêt. Parmi ses réalisations, d'être un gagnant du concours à l'International II musicale européenne "Città d'Acri, est classée 3e au FISA le septième concours international" ... Harmony 2009 », tenue à Trieste, 2e au concours international« Les estro armonico », qui s'est tenue à Ladispoli (RM), 2e à la concurrence de la Cinquième Internationale de Città di Greci» (AV), 1er au Concours de musique européen qui s'est tenu à Philadelphie , et 1er au 32e Concours national de musique qui s'est tenue à Lamezia Terme, la «musique contemporaine». De nombreux autres événements en Calabre ont participé Tommaso Arena des concerts en solo pour la Musical Club Rotary Association, pour l'Association de la musique l'île à Brescia et à Athènes / Grèce, et des collaborations en tant que soliste avec l'Orchestre du Pizzo Calabro de Limonest. Il a enregistré pour le label Fire Music CD Edupatès pour hautbois et accordéon, et a fait des enregistrements pour le compte de Radio Vatican et les Editions Music Physa. Actuellement, il se spécialise avec le maestro Mario Pietrodarchi Stefano. |

 En Mars 2010, la société Fratelli Alessandrini (www.accordions.com / Alessandrini) a transféré son laboratoire de G. Marcora, 6 - Zone Industrielle Cerretano, Castelfidardo, dans les anciens locaux Sonerfisa, où le plus grand accordéon du monde a été construite par M. Giancarlo Francenella. Donc, pour ceux qui ont perdu la trace de l'accordéon Guinness pouvez désormais retourner à l'admirer et entendre le son à côté de l'exposition des Fratelli Alessandrini, où il est en bonne compagnie, entouré de leurs accordéons .... une excellente occasion d'essayer et d'apprécier les instruments plus haut de l'artisanat! L'accordéon méga voyages accompagnés par Alessandrini, chaque fois qu'une bonne occasion se présente, à divers événements autour de l'Italie. Récemment, il a participé au festival d'accordéon 5ème notou Sounadour 'Robilante (Cuneo), qui a eu lieu le 15 et 16 mai 2010. |

 Le 39e International du Pacifique Sud et la Nouvelle-Zélande Championnats nationaux Accordéon (South Pacific Accordion Championships) & Festival aura lieu le samedi Juin 5 et dimanche 6 Juin au Centre des Arts Raye Freedman, Epsom, Auckland. Le concours sélectionne les candidats Nouvelle-Zélande pour la Mondiale Coupé (Coupe Mondiale) 2010 en Croatie. Artiste invité pour l'événement est il Qian (Chine), de 2009 Coupe Mondiale Piano Accordéon gagnant de la catégorie qui termine une maîtrise à l'Sichuan Conservatoire de musique de Chine. Né mai 1985 17, elle est la scène à deux concerts. Concert «honneur de 2009 en Nouvelle-Zélande Coupe Mondiale entrants", 17 heures-18 heures, le samedi 5 et Juin au concert d'adieu 02h30 pm dimanche 6 Juin. invité d'honneur sera Kevin Friedrich, président de se retirer CIA, qui est retourné à la Nouvelle-Zélande à remercier le comité organisateur pour leur NZAA superbe de la Coupe Mondiale 2009 à Takapuna, Nouvelle-Zélande et également à remercier la Nouvelle-Zélande Coupe Mondiale entrants pour leur fine performances, et pour leurs très bons résultats. Le Championnat du Pacifique Sud Accordéon (South Pacific Accordion Championships) & Festival se terminera par un dîner de célébration le dimanche soir.  On May 19th Rosemary Wright was the guest at Stockport Accordion Club. She wasn't feeling at all well before she began playing, then – like the trouper she is - rallied and turned in a 5 star performance. Rosemary played ‘Washington Post’, ‘Carte Postale’, ‘Temptation Rag’, ‘Petite Fleur’, ‘A Night in Montmartre’, ‘The Stack of Wheat’/‘Harvest Home’/‘The Merry Reapers’ (hornpipes), ‘Chineuse’, ‘Intermezzo’ from ‘Cavalleria Rusticana’, ‘Scherzo’ (J.Gart), ‘Preludio’ (A. Volpi), ‘Caracole’ (R. Binge), ‘Blue Danube’, ‘Danza Orientale’ (Fugazza), Prelude to Act 3 from ‘La Traviata’ (Verdi), ‘Pupazetti’ (L. Fancelli), ‘The Flying Dance’, ‘Flight of the Angels’ (C. Carozza), ‘The Flying Scotsman’, ‘The Dancing Dustman’/’Woodland Flowers’/’The Highland Brigade’ (Felix Burns), ‘Indifference’ (J. Colombo/T. Murena), and ‘Douche Ecossaise’ (A. Verchuren/G. Ghestem). This was a varied and entertaining programme, and with much for the more discerning ear to appreciate. Rosemary Wright, who last played at Stockport AC in 2005, is one of Britain’s finest and most accomplished accordionists. The Stockport AC Band (MD Derek Stubbs), opened the concert, performing the march ‘150 Squadron’ (Clifford Wood), ‘Waltz for Eva’ (John Jones), and the 1930s tango ‘La Morenita’ (Matyas Seiber). Playing supporting spots were Betty Molloy/Christine Green, Dave Holt (playing his first ever spot in public – well done!), John Higham, Ray Peacock, Rob Howard, and John Trigg/Derek Pritchard. | Last week there was a concert, ‘Gypsy romances and not only...’, held in the Silesian Piast castle courtyard, Plac Zamkowy, Brzeg, Poland, featuring Swietlana Ermolenko (Moscow) - vocals and guitar with the ensemble S-ART, from Wroclaw, whose members are Olexiy Suslov? (accordion), Monika Gorzelana (violin), and Piotr Wróblewski (percussion). Swietlana Ermolenko together with accordionist Olexiy Suslov? have performed concerts in many countries, including Austria (Graz), Belarus (Minsk), Lithuania, Germany (Berlin, Halle), Poland (Warsaw, Wroclaw), Russia (Moscow, St.Petersburg), Ukraine (Kiev), and Italy. | The ‘Polka Times’ newspaper, started in 2003, is owned and published by Editor Paul Mirkovich in Pennsylvania, USA. In January 2008, Polka Times purchased the Polka News published in Michigan and expanded its readership. The monthly Polka Times gives details of dances and festivals, new CD releases, polka events, clubs, the musicians, trips, what’s new in the polka world, etc. Photos are printed in color and the newspaper includes a section, ‘Accordion Today!’, with accordion related news from the polka scene. | The Baillies Mills Accordion Band, which recently celebrated its 70th Anniversary with a concert and a capacity audience at the Waterfront Hall, Belfast, Northern Ireland, raised a substantial amount for various charities. Charities benefitting from the proceeds are Marie Curie Cancer Care, Camphill Communities Trust (N.I.) and Stepping Stones (N.I.) Each will receive a cheque for £2,500. The Baillies Mills Accordion was invited to lead the Independence Day Parade in Bergen, Norway on May 17th 2010 - the first accordion band from the UK who have been invited to join the celebrations and mark the day in 1814 when Norway became independent from Denmark. |

 Bor-Kuan Song is 17 years old and began learning the accordion at the age of 12 with Chelsey Mayes. He is a first year student of Auckland University, studying for a Bachelar of Music degree, majoring in accordion performance, with Tatiana Lanchtchikova as his tutor. Bor-Kuan has achieved Grade 8 in piano, flute and theory in the ABRSM exams. He also obtained Grade 8 in accordion in the Trinity-Guildhall exams, including gaining the highest mark in New Zealand for Grade 7 music. Last year, Bor-Kuan was awarded ‘Top in the World’ for both his AS level and A level Music exams in the Cambridge International Fellowship Awards, which he sat in May and November respectively. Bor-Kuan was one of the New Zealand candidates competing in the 2009 Coupe Mondiale and gained 7th place in the Junior Coupe Mondiale class. |

 A pop rock band and an ensemble of pop folksters have combined to win Slovenia's place in this year's Eurovision Song Contest with ‘Narodno zabavni rok’, a song combining accordion-pop music with rock rhythm.Ansambel Roka Zlindre & Kalamari won a televised national contest, against 13 other bands and singers, to win entry qualification to the final of Saturday evening. May 29th, in Oslo, Norway. |

 The Cooperativa Sociale Accademia Musicale ‘Nuccio Fiorda’, in collaboration with the Cooperativa Sociale Giovanile ‘Antonio Cardarelli’, organizes the first European Accordion Festival in Campobasso on June 5th. This new cultural event follows the five previous editions of the National Festival that has received plaudits from many worldwide known professionals and can now claim the title of a ‘European competition’. The European Accordion Festival will see the collaboration of 2 different Italian regions, Molise and Emilia Romagna, who share the great passion for this instrument. * The contest is open to all accordionists, male and female. * The competition will be held in the Convitto Nazionale ‘Mario Pagano’, Campobasso, Molise * Participants may perform with acoustic instruments of all kinds and brands and may subscribe to various categories presenting applications for registration. SECTIONS, CATEGORIES AND MUSIC DURATION: The sections are: CLASSICAL SECTION - SECTION VARIETE '- JAZZ SECTION. Categories for classical and Varieté: A) up to 10 years old: free program lasting up to 7 minutes; B) up to 12 years old: free program lasting up to 8 minutes; C) up to 15 years old: free program lasting max of 9 minutes; D) to 18 years old: free program lasting max 10 minutes; E) at any age: free program lasting max 12 minutes. For the jazz section: - Free program lasting max 12 minutes with accordion solo. - Compulsory piece entitled ‘Dallas’, by Antonio Colagiovanni, with accompaniment of a jazz quartet (provided by the organization). | An ‘Accordion Summer Course’ takes place in La Roche, Switzerland, August 16th to 20th. The teachers include Fanny Vicens, Marie-Andrée Joerger, Vincent Lhermet, and Sylvain Tissot. This course has been arranged in response to the success of the 2009 accordion summer course in France, and is designed for all ages, all levels (from beginner to advanced), and all styles. The course content includes individual tuition, an approach to chamber music in small groups focusing on one specific theme (the fugue, contemporary music, tango, folk music…), accordion ensemble.
