Concert Dedicated to the Memory of Kazys Stonkus, Kaunas - Lithuaniaby Harley Jones |

 A concert will be held, 30th January 2022 to honor the memory of Kazys Stonkus. Venue is the Kaunas State Philharmonic. On 10 December 2021 the world lost one of the most outstanding Lithuanian accordionists, professor of the Academy of Music of the VMU (Kaunas), head of the Accordion Department, president of the Lithuanian National Accordionists' Union, member of the Music Committee of the Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes (CIA). The concert will feature: Saxophonist Petras Vyšniauskas, opera soloist Asta Krikšciunaite, Ciurlionis Quartet, pianist Daumantas Slipkus, violinist Vytautas Mikeliunas, singers Rasa Rapalyte, Egidijus Sipavicius, Viktoras Malinauskas and guitarist Tadas Grajauskas, multi-instrumentalist Leonardas Bekša, former students Augustinas Rakauskas, Laimonas Salijus, Vytenis Danielius, Monika Ryškute, Audrius Daucianskas, Žygimantas Baltrunas, the ensemble Nostalgija, the instrumental group U'Elements. The concert will be hosted by musicologist Viktoras Gerulaitis. |
