Koda "Keepin' It Reel" CD, Scotland – UKby Rob Howard |
Koda, led by Keith Dickson, are well known for their cabaret style performances at the annual NAO UK Championships, where their accordion-led arrangements of Scottish music are always exciting and riveting. The band, which is based in Biggar, Scotland, consists of 15 members ranging in ages from 14 – 19 years. Eight Accordions, Fiddle and Bagpipes are supported by a lively rhythm section of Piano, Bass, Keyboards, Drums and Percussion with Shelley Clark’s Female Vocals providing even more variety. "Keepin' It Reel" demonstrates that the essentially ‘live’ quality of their music is certainly not lost in a recording studio, and this latest CD provides compulsive listening from start to finish. The 12 Tracks include ‘The Bee in the Knickers’, ‘The Farewell Set’, ‘Follow the Heron’, ‘The High Drive’, ‘Caledonia’, ‘Captain Campbell’, ‘Keepin' It Reel’, ‘Helen’, ‘The Heights of Cassino’, ‘The Anniversary Waltz’, ‘Flower of Scotland’, and ‘The Beaumont Rag’.
