 Picture above: Paavo Korpijaakko (left) and Mika Väyrynen.Our semester is starting soon in September and right at the beginning, we have a very important concert by one of our teachers, Dr Mika Väyrynen. Because of the current Covid-19 restrictions, there will probably be hardly any live audience, but the concert will be streamed by the University of the Arts. A link to the online video will be added to the following website about one hour before the beginning of the concert: https://www.uniarts.fi/en/events/mika-vayrynen-of-life-and-death/ Mika Väyrynen will perform the solo recital at The Great Hall of The Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Finland on September 8th at 7pm Finnish time (UTC +3). This online concert entitled "Of Life and Death" is a musical journey of life from childhood to death. The concert program includes works by Volodymir Podgorny, Pjotr Tchaikowsky, Paavo Korpijaakko (Sonata No 2), and Nicolas Economou. The second half of the concert will feature the world premiere of Sonata No 3 by Paavo Korpijaakko, which is dedicated to Mika. Full information release at: 2021MikaVäyrynen |
