Accordion virtuoso Pearl Fawcett-Adriano and Accordionist Phil Watson
Accordion virtuoso Pearl Fawcett-Adriano performed a charity concert at the Alexandra Working Men’s Club, Royton, Barnsley, South Yorkshire, on October 22nd. The charity was BUMPY, an organisation that teaches road safety for motor bikers, and funds were raised to buy a new off-road buggy for disabled youngsters.

Accordionist Phil Watson, a cousin of Pearl Fawcett-Adriano and the concert organiser, did two warm up spots, playing ‘American Patrol’, ‘Moon River’, ‘Arriverderci Roma’, ‘Beer Barrel Polka’, ‘Carioca’, etc. Pearl's pieces included ‘Granada’, ‘Autumn Leaves’, ‘Hejre Kati’, ‘O Sole Mio’, ‘Lambeth Polka’, ‘Caravan’, ‘Ciribiribin’, ‘La Vie Parisienne’, ‘Wiliam Tell Overture’, plus some duets such as ‘Strangers in the Night’ and ‘Under the Bridges of Paris’.

Rob Howard was the compere, commenting “It was all terrific stuff. My wife Marj and I were on the front row, and for us it felt like a private recital!”
