 On Sunday June 20th the North Shore Accordion Orchestra performed at St George’s Church in Takapuna, New Zealand. This was part of a Community Outreach Winter Concert Programme called ‘Buttons & Bellows’, and titled ‘Accordion Showcase’.Lionel Reekie conducted the NSAO, performing a programme of ‘Movie Music’, including ‘Star Wars’, ‘Pirates of the Carribean’, ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’, and ‘Flashdance’. The junior group, the Music Makers, conducted by Christine Adams, performed ‘Angel Voices’, ‘Puff the Magic Dragon’, and ‘Summer Rock'N'Roll’, by NZ composer Amy Jennings. Soloists were the NZ Solo Champion Eddie Giffney, Stephanie Panzic, Kristina Panzic, and Jessica Chen. |
