23rd International Week of the Accordion – Portugalby Rob Howard |
  The 23rd International Week of the Accordion "Alcobaça 2019", will be held in Alcobaca from May 18th to 26th organised by Diana Freire (Competition Manager) and Aníbal Freire, (pictures left) President of the Portugal Accordion Association.This International Week will integrate the 24th National Trophy as well as the 5th Accordion International Contest, on the 24th (concert), 25th and 26th of May. The main objective is to give young accordion players the opportunity to assess their knowledge and skills compared to other international players. The competition will include categories for soloists, duets, trios, quartets, orchestras and chamber music for all age groups. In addition, there will be a program of concerts and masterclasses. Details will be announced soon. Registrations close on May 10th, 2019.
