2013Impressions Photo Report During the 5th Edition of “Museum in Musica” in Castelfidardo the numerous audience of the Theatre “Astra” had the pleasure of listening to the wonderful enchanting music of the Duo Mandocello of Francesco Palazzo (accordion) and Mauro Squillante (mandoloncello) an ancient combination of instrumental folk cultural tradition, rural, mostly Italian. Duo "Palazzo Squillante", desire to retrieve through a philological research and musicological, historical, and stylistic approach, the culture of the original mandocello and commit to memory, precious and ancient oral traditions, that are unwritten. The repertoire ranges from songs with a strong penchant for ethnic songs and popular, with music arranged by original music (as happens in all traditions) with new compositions inspired by popular themes and memories, a centuries-old songs (like some tarantella of 700, Bourbon tradition) and ending with songs of Romany tradition, rooted for centuries in our land, as in most European countries.
