Leonard Brown ‘Celebrating the career of Davie Stewart’ Concert, Scotland – UKby Rob Howard |
 Accordionist Leonard Brown and his band perform a concert on Sunday February 26th, 2pm until 5pm, at The Salutation Hotel, Perth, to celebrate the career and retirement of the veteran accordionist and composer Davie Stewart, who has enjoyed a playing career of 65 years. The concert also features accordionists Steven Carcary, Iain Cruickshanks, and Wayne Robertson. Admission is £7, and tickets can be obtained from the organiser Leonard Brown.Davie Stewart, from Kirriemuir, Angus, has been playing Scottish dance music since the early 1950s, and is well-known for his fine harmony playing (second accordion) on the recordings of many other accordionists. He has also made recordings and a DVD in his own right, and has also composed lots of dance music. Leonard Brown, from Newcastle, became only the second Englishman to become All Scotland Accordion Champion in 2012 (Robert Whitehead was the first in 1978).
