Download 2017 44 page program (43 MB): 2017Kokkola.pdf Festival Director Raimo Vertainen reports that over 5,100 people from children to elders attended the 38 concerts that were part of the 19th annual Kokkola Accordion Festival. The varied program included premiere performances and a generous helping of Finnish music, a Mannerheim evening and musical ambassadors from abroad. This festival shows the extraordinary versatility of the accordion as a musical instrument in a classical, modern, light music, and even beat-box context. The program also included dance, community singing and outdoor events. To celebrate the 20th Kokkola Winter Accordion Festival, 10 to 18 February 2018, the event will also include the CIA Winter Congress. Picture below: Congress venue viewed by CIA officials last week. |
