 The Astor Piazzolla Summit 2018 takes place from March 2nd to 4th at the Accademia di Musica, Paola (CS), Italy. Performing at this event are Laura Escalada Piazzolla, Duet Tango, Trio Astor Piazzolla, and Antonio Spaccatotella.This event marks the 25th anniversary of the passing of Astor Piazzolla (1921-1992), legendary Argentine tango composer, bandoneon player, and arranger, who personally revolutionized the traditional tango into a new style termed nuevo tango, incorporating elements from jazz and classical music. A virtuoso bandoneonist, he regularly performed his own compositions with a variety of ensembles. Paola is a town and comune in the province of Cosenza in the Calabria region of southern Italy.
