German Orchestra Accollage Concert, Scotland – UKby Harley Jones |
Accollage, an accordion orchestra from Lower Saxony, northern Germany, who have been performing at the Edinburgh Fringe, are performing in concert at the bandstand, Mugdock Country Park, Milngavie, on Saturday August 22nd, from 2-4pm. This is their first Scottish tour and they will be aiming to get toes tapping with a mix of accordion-based soul, pop and rock. Musical Director Ralf Schwarzien says: “As a group we have always liked to push the boundaries of what people traditionally think of accordion music and we can’t wait to enjoy a big garden party with Scottish music fans.” Accollage was founded in 1985 as the National Youth Accordion Orchestra of Lower Saxony and was open solely to young talented accordionists. It has since progressed to include accordion players, drummers and bassists of all ages. “Concerts like this and the recent MugStock festival will hopefully lead to more events taking place within the breathtaking grounds of Mugdock Country Park - with resulting benefits for the park and the East Dunbartonshire economy.” |
