Sata-Häme Soi International Accordion Festival, Ikaalinen – Finlandby Kevin Friedrich |
 The annual Sata-Häme Soi International Accordion Festival will take place from June 24th to 29th in Ikaalinen, Finland, featuring a diverse variety of accordion styles during the weeklong extravaganza of concerts, competitions and fun.Guest artistes include Quadro Nuevo Quartet, The Unelmavävyt Dance Orchestra, Veli-Matti Järvenpää Tex-Mex Band, Mika Väyrynen, Renzo Ruggieri and Mauro de Federicis, Ludovic Beier, Tiit Kalluste Jump Band, Viatcheslav Semionov Duo, Viva Tango Baltango Quintet featuring Alexandar Nikolic, and more. Several competitions will take place at the festival including the 2 and 3 row Finnish diatonic accordion competitions, the Golden and Silver Accordion National competitions broadcast on live TV, the Roland V-Accordion Competition to decide the Finnish participant for the Roland V Accordion Competition in Italy in November, and the IV International Primus Ikaalinen live television show accordion competition. Accordions Worldwide will provide daily reports of the event found at Sata-Häme Soi website beginning on Wednesday June 25th 2008. |
