4th Astor Piazzolla ‘Libertango’ Music Festival, Lanciano - Italyby Rob Howard |
 The 4th ‘Libertango’ Festival takes place in Lanciano from October 7th to 9th, and all test pieces are works composed by Astor Piazzolla. The competition caters for soloists - piano, violin, violoncello, flute, saxophone, guitar, domra, balalaika, bayan, accordion and bandoneon, and ensembles of 2 to 8 persons, without any age restrictions. Participants can play from music, but in the case of total marks equality preference will be given for performers, who played from memory.The President of the Jury is Vladimir Zubitsky (right), and the guest of honour and a judge of competition will be Laura Piazzolla (Argentina). The festival founders are: Fundacion Astor Piazzolla (Argentina), the International association “Libertango”(Germany), the Music Competition Association of Russia, L’Associazione Gruppo Tradizioni Popolari Lanciano, Italy.
