Convence of CIA Executives at A World of Accordions Museum, WI – USAby Rob Howard |

 On July 30th three Executive members of the Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes (CIA) will meet with board members of A World of Accordions Museum at the Harrington ARTS Center, Wisconsin, for conversations concerning joint interests and supportive actions.The international group will include Kevin Friedrich (USA), Harley Jones and sister Heather Masefield (New Zealand), Herbert Scheibenreif (Austria), as well as Kenneth Baert, David Beer, Curator Helmi Harrington (picture top right) and AWAM Board of Directors. Community leaders including Mayor Jim Paine have scheduled attendance. Representatives from City Council persons, Chamber of Commerce, UWS, WITC, among others, are also expected. The CIA (Secretariat in Finland) and the CIA World Accordion Museum Alliance (WAMA) committee, Chairman Kevin Friedrich (picture right), are wishing to promote internationally accordion museums as part of the overall development of the accordion and the CIA membership of the International Music Council, an NGO member of UNESCO. The agenda planned for the 2pm meeting will include: 1) Tour of the Museum instruments, concert hall and libraries 2) “Superior Vision” fundraising kick-off for AWAM 3) Discuss preservation of historic documents and artefacts through museum affiliations 4) World Accordion Day, 2019 |
