Accordionists & Teachers Guild Festival, Illinois – USAby Rob Howard |

 The 78th annual Accordionists & Teachers Guild, International Festival takes place from Wednesday July 25th to Saturday 28th at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Lisle, near Chicago, Illinois. The festival will involve over 100 accordionists, and features a range of concerts, competitions, workshops, exhibits, etc, and all open to the public. Single-day passes are available for $20; evening concert tickets are $15. Tickets may be purchased at the door. Events run daily from 9am until 9.30pm. A Buffet Lunch is available daily from 12–1pm with entertainment for $25. This year’s guest artists include Matthias Matzke (Germany), Stas Venglevski (Moldova), Cory Pesaturo, Petar Maric (Serbia), Mike Alongi, Donna Dee and Dennis Ray, Mixed Ensemble (MD Murl Allen Sanders), The ATG Festival Accordion Orchestra (MD Joan Cochran Sommers), and the President’s Quintet (Joseph Natoli, Amy Jo Sawyer, Kenn Baert, Murl Sanders, and Liz Finch). The special honored guest is Harley Jones, of Accordions Worldwide fame. Founded in 1940, the Accordionists & Teachers Guild, International was created to support and promote the accordion, development of music composition and arrangements specifically for accordions and to support accordionists and teachers.
