Finnish accordionist Kimmo Pohjonen (born 1964) has a folk dance music background, but is a visionary musician who seeks to expand the capabilities, sound, scope, performance and experience of the accordion to levels never before attempted, seen or heard. In his performances, accordion, voice, effects, surround sound and light show combine to make a unique and captivating performance event. Pohjonen studied at the Sibelius Academy Folk Music Department, becoming an experimental and versatile musician, whose stage shows involve unusual sounds and visual effects.
