 In order to encourage the creation of new accordion repertoire, composers are invited to compose a work for Accordion & Orchestra, freely inspired by the theme of the 2019 PIF Festival:“Once upon a time… the accordion”.Instrumentation: Accordion, Violins I, Violins II, Violas, Cellos, Double Basses, Flute I-II, Oboe I-II, Bb Clarinet I-II, Bassoons I-II, F Horn I-II, Bb Trumpet I-II, Trombone, Percussion 1 (2 Timpani, C Glockenspiel), Percussion 2 (Suspended Cymbal, Snare, Tambourine). Other competition requirements are: - The composition must never have been performed in public, under penalty of exclusion from the competition. - The composer must remember that the winning piece will be performed by the candidates admitted to the 3rd round of the PIF Premio classical competition category (2019). The total duration shall be minimum 5 to maximum 8 minutes. The composition must contain at least one “soloist” part for accordion. The soloists will perform “only one rehearsal” with the orchestra before the final performance. Free registration. Composers are invited to enter online on the PIF site.
