‘Elite’, a new CD by Russian accordionist Sergey Petrov, is innovative and unconventional in its style and concept, and includes accordion, harmonica and a rhythm section. The album is the result of eleven years of creative work by Sergey Petrov. It is a chain of images caused by impressions from different displays of human life. Stylistically, the album has a romantic trend with shades of jazz cool, be-bop and bossa nova elements. Soft-core jazz improvisations combine with traditional swing rhythms very harmoniously, and should appeal to jazz and non-jazz audiences alike. The tracks on ‘Elite’ are: ‘Elite’, ‘Il mare caldo’,’ B.C’, ‘Ballade for Two’, ‘Coquette’, ‘Obsession’, ‘Splinter’, ‘Notte di Bovalino’, ‘La Valse a Margaux’ (R.Galliano), ‘Night Bossa’, and ‘Bandy’. All titles were composed and arranged by Sergey Petrov, except ‘La Valse a Margaux’, and all tracks have mp3 files available. |
