Scottish Tango Ensemble Concerts, Glasgow - UKby Rob Howard |
Accordionist Paul Chamberlain, from Edinburgh, will be performing with The Scottish Tango Ensemble in two concerts in Glasgow. On June 20th they are playing in the West End Festival as part of the Cottiers Chamber Project. This concert is in Cottier Theatre, 93-95 Hyndland Road, Glasgow, G11 5PU, and begins at 6pm. The Scottish Tango Ensemble have also teamed up with the Glasgow Tango Studio to present at 8.30pm on Friday June 24th a concert followed by a milonga in the Centre for Contemporary Arts in Glasgow. The ensemble was formed in 2009 and is a collaboration of four dynamic musicians based in Edinburgh and Glasgow: Gemma O’Keeffe (violin), Paul Chamberlain (accordion), Tom Berry (double bass) and Fiona Macleod (piano). Their program will include some of Piazzolla’s most famous concert tangos as well as more traditional repertoire from the dance halls of Buenos Aires.
