On Thursday morning April 9th, Mitchell ‘Mitch’ Mason, who worked as a technician/tuner at Rob Beecroft’s Birmingham Accordion Centre, died after being hit by a train near Birmingham. Mitch, who was 20 years old, attended many accordion festivals, clubs and other events as part of trade shows. He was well-known and very much liked by all who met him, and his sudden death has come as a great shock in the UK accordion scene. The police have issued a statement: “The death is currently being treated as non-suspicious and officers will assist in the compilation of a report for the coroner”. |
