Russia is the largest country by area in the world, extending across 9 time zones covering the whole of northern Asia and a large part of Europe. The accordion figures significantly across all of Russia, both as a classical and a folk instrument, and there are lots of accordion concerts and festivals taking place throughout the year. Some upcoming accordion events are: March 17th – ‘Day of Russian Bayan’ concert, featuring an Una Sinistra program with Alexander Selivanov and Yulia Amerikova, in the Concert Hall of the Gnessin Institute, Moscow. April 4th to 9th - Open National competition ‘Jugoria’, and various performances with orchestra together with Viatcheslav Semionov, Yuri Shishkin, Oleg Sharov, Victor Romanko and Zinaida Aleshina, in Surgut, Russia. April 25th - Una Sinista concert for the 25th Anniversary of music school in Yoshkar-Ola (Mari El), Russia. April 30th – Una Sinistra concert and meeting with the students of the Gnessin Institute in Moscow. |
