| Mylie Thwaites (2003 AATA Open Solo Champion), from New Zealand, has studied accordion in the Ukraine for 6 years, under the tutelage of Professor Vladimir Besfamilnov at the Ukrainian National Music Academy in Kiev. She is the first New Zealander to study and major in accordion in Eastern Europe. Mylie Thwaites recently performed her final performance examination and was awarded High Distinction for her Diploma performance.
