“Fascination Dance“ Marko Kassl and University Orchestra - Germanyby Holda Paoletti-Kampl |
Marko Kassl (akkordeon, bandoneon) is performing with the University of Duisburg-Essen Orchestra the rarely performed suite of Piazolla “Punta del Estate". The conductor is Oliver Leo Schmidt who was awarded the "Herbert von Karajan" Conducting Prize 2008. The "roots" of different cultures have always fascinated composers. The music gets connected between the Argentine Tango “reformer” Piazzolla, Khatshcaturian of Armenia and the Russian Tchaikovsky in congenial manner with the typical local colour of their homeland. In the “Ballet Gayaneh"of Khatschaturian the young Armenian Gayaneh is struggling around with her alcoholic husband and the Kolchos comunity. In Tchaikovsky's world famous ballet "Swan Lake" the typical fairy tale theme of the enchanted princess, that can only be saved by love. A real concert special is the dance suite of Piazzolla “Punta del Estate" of course with his instrument, the bandoneon.
