 Mexican accordionist Salomon Canelo, who plays both piano and diatonic accordions, has recently claimed a new record as the fastest accordion player in the world, playing a diatonic accordion at 30 notes per second. He commented that “discipline and the work is the secret of success”.The previous record was held since 2008 by former All Ireland Champion diatonic accordionist Liam O’Connor, playing ‘Tico Tico’ at 11.67 notes per second, ratified by Guinness Records.
