 Festival report and pictures at: 2013woaProgram download at: 2013program_woa.pdf Last week, the new Festival and Music Awards "World of Accordion" started on June 29th 2013 in Castelfidardo and continued until Sunday, July 7th 2013. All visitors to the WOA Festival in Castelfidardo could enjoy not only a hot week of summer, but also lots of music in various styles and interesting, talented artists from around the world. The last 3 days of the Festival were dedicated to the sections jazz and world music, pop and entertainment and on Sunday, folk and diatonic music. As last attraction of this new event organized by Elke Ahrenholz was the attempt to break the World Guiness Record – having 1200 accordion players perform in the City of Castelfidardo in front of the City Hall overlooked by the Mayor Mirko Soprani. This event succeeded in beating the Italian Record but not the 1,200, but in any case it was a lot of fun for all participants and spectators who were numerous.
