Grayson Masefield with Orquesta Sinfonica de Chile, Santiago - Chileby Rob Howard |
Last week, Swiss based New Zealand accordionist Grayson Masefield was performing Piazzolla’s Concerto Aconcagua at three concerts with the National Symphony Orchestra of Chile conducted by Francois Lopez-Ferrar. Coupe Mondiale and Trophée Mondial winner Grayson Masefield performed at two concerts in Santiago on the 28th & 29th January in the third series of their summer season program which was celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Orchestra. The final concert was held at the 48th Semanas Musicales de Frutillar in the southern lake region of Chile in a sold out theatre of over 1200 seats. It was the first time in over 24 years that an accordion has been included in the festivals concert program. Each concert was a success and after being called back on stage multiple times, Grayson completed his program with a solo encore. eTracks mp3 album available online at: Grayson Masefield |
