This is the only professional group in Russia, which plays the unique instruments made by the Russian engineer Nikolai Kosorukov and called timbre accordions. These instruments don’t have any equivalent in the world. Their sound quality closely resembles that of symphonic wind instruments made of brass or wood so they were called “oboe”, “clarinet”, “French horn” and “tuba”. The traditional multitimbral accordion is also used in the Group. The Timbre Russian Accordion Group has made many CD's, radio and TV appearances and concerts in many parts of the European continent and in 2008 were granted the Title of Honoured Artist of Russia by President Putin.
