On 22nd October 2011, the world premiere of Aydar Gainullin‘s new composition ‘Eastern Rhapsody’ for bayan, guitar, violoncello, basuri, cajon, chorus and symphonic orchestra took place during the concert ‘World Stars of Music’ at the Svetlanovsky Hall in Moscow‘s International House of Music. The composition, originally written for Ivan Vyrypaev’s film ‘Oxygen’, was nominated and awarded in the category ‘Best Film Music’ at the XX Open All-Russia film festival ‘Kinotavr’ (Sochi, 2009). The music is a brilliant potpourri on themes of ABBA, the Beatles, from films ‘Circus’, ‘Euphoria’, as well as the compositions of Shnitke and Piazzolla, which were also were included in the programme. The musicians participating were: Aydar Gainullin (bayan, accordina & bandoneon), Borislav Strulev (cello), ?rtem Dervoed (guitar), Sergey Shamov (cajon), Pavel Novikov (bansuri), and the Russian Kamerata Chamber orchestra.
