The Accordions Worldwide news for the week ending November 3rd 2000 included an article about a cruise in the Caribbean 14 years ago, with entertainment by the Puerto Rico Accordion Orchestra. This must have been a splendid way to spend a few days in November. What has happened since to the Puerto Rico Accordion Orchestra? Can anyone tell us? Native Puerto Rico Tunes For Holiday Makers - Puerto Rico Contributed by Jane Berkovitz The Puerto Rico Accordion Orchestra will perform a repertoire of tunes native to Puerto Rico when they entertain guests on the ‘Nordic Empress’ Caribbean cruise ship from November 17th to 20th. Two percussionists, an announcer and a dancer will accompany the 15 member accordion orchestra. Their programs will include ‘Aguinaldo Jibaro’, ‘La Boricua’, as well as popular pieces like ‘Lara's Theme’, ‘Can Can’, and ‘Syncopated Clock’. |
