Friedrich Lips Returns to Musikforum Viktring Continuing the Long Association - Austriaby Dr Herbert Scheibenreif Manager of Friedrich Lips Productions |
The very first time Friedrich Lips and I met, almost 40 years ago, was at a seminar of Prof. Puchnowski in Bialystok (Poland) in 1977. That was the beginning of a life-long friendship and cooperation that has been full of very interesting projects: - translating and publishing Friedrich Lips articles and books. Many students in different countries use this information in their diploma works and thesis; - production of CDs, which was something very new at the start. This has now grown into a series of 27 CDs available to the world; - organizing concert tours and seminars etc. I began inviting Friedrich Lips to Europe for concert tours, as a soloist or together with his cellist Vladimir Toncha or with his quintet "Piazzolla Studio“. Seminars began at Austrian conservatories and music universities in Vienna, Graz, Linz, Salzburg, Klagenfurt. There was also a need for summer courses, taking advantage of Austria’s most beautiful landscapes like Imst (Tyrol) and later Viktring, located on one of Austria most beautiful lakes in Carinthia. This year, Friedrich Lips continues the proud tradition of workshops in Austria which began so many years ago, and will be held during Musikforum Viktring: 11th to 15th July 2016 (located in Carinthia, near Klagenfurt). Friedrich Lips, concert artist, acclaimed tutor, has enjoyed an amazing career of concert and teaching successes and also promotion, to be the Head of Department of the famous Bayan/Accordion Department of the Gnessin Academy of Music in Moscow. In Austria, participants annually have the rare opportunity to have solo lessons with this famous artist and teacher, learning his views of how to solve musical and technical problems, performance on stage, etc. On Tuesday July, 12th 8 p.m. Friedrich Lips will appear as a soloist in a concert called "Viktring connection" in Stiftskirche Viktring together with Kaus Paier (accordion), Asja Valcic (violoncello) and Gregor Hübner (violin).
