Grayson Masefield Tour in Sichuan, Shenzhen, Gui Yang, Shanghai - China

Grayson Masefield
For the past two weeks Grayson Masefield (student of Frederic Deschamps) has been performing in China at various concerts, festivals and competitions with two other Hohner Artists Cao Ye and Liu Zhao.

The first was the 2012 Sichuan Province Ya An Accordion Music Festival hosted by Sichuan Province Musicians Association & Ya An Federation of Art Circles. This was the first time this festival has been held and included contestants from the Sichuan province of China, many of whom are preparing for the 2012 major international accordion competitions.

As well as performing, Grayson Masefield was a jury member of the top classical category along with fellow Hohner Artist Cao Ye with both performing at the opening concert and at the variety concert the next night.

After three days in Shenzhen, including a performance at Shenzhen's most popular music bar, well known for its accordionist, they travelled to the new festival in Gui Yang, program cover on left.

The 2012 Gui Yang "Huaxi" Summers Arts Festival Accordion Competition was hosted by the People's Government of Gui Yang Province, Gui Yang Province Musicians Association, Gui Yang Federation of Art Circles and the Chinese Accordion Association. The event included competitions for accordion, piano and electric organ.

The opening ceremony had many government officials attending and it featured performances by international artists from China, Japan, Russia and New Zealand on a variety of different instruments including accordion, bandoneon, piano & electronic organ.

The next stop is attending the seminars in Shanghai held by Frederic Deschamps.
