Kevin as...


...as a SOLOIST Kevin has performed in many countries around the world both as a soloist and with orchestra.

Growing up playing the Piano Accordion, Kevin also performs on the C System Bayan Accordion, Diatonic Accordion and various historical accordion family instruments.

In addition, depending on the requirements of the performance, Kevin has performed using the Midi accordion, the Reedless Accordion and the Bass Accordion.
 
Kevin is pictured performing at the Tenri Cultural Institute in New York City performing in a workshop entitled "Having It All" at the annual series of Masterclasses and Concerts sponsored by the American Accordionists' Association and moderated by Dr. William Schimmel. This program was designed to highlight some of the different members of the accordion family to the General Public, where Kevin performed solos on the Piano Accordion, Bayan Accordion, Bass Accordion and Reedless Digital Accordion.

...as an ENTERTAINER Kevin has performed as a soloist and with a violinist in a duo entitled 'Bellows and Bows' in many different settings including Outdoor Concerts, Restaurants, Hotels, Festivals, Parades, Pool Parties, Weddings, Funerals, Receptions, TV Shows, Radio Broadcasts and Festivals.

Performing popular favorites, golden oldies, light classics and ethnic music, Kevin has entertained in Europe, New Zealand and the United States.

In addition, Kevin also makes many charity performances, often performing for the elderly in Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Facilities and Hospitals. These performances have taken place in France, the USA and regularly in New Zealand during his visits home.


...as a member of THE INTERNATIONAL TRIO Kevin performs with accordionists Julie (USA) and Juha Silfverberg (Finland).

The Trio has performed in New Zealand, Finland, Estonia and the United States where they perform a mixture of light classics, Popular Favorites, Broadway Showtunes and Original Accordion Music.

In addition to appearing on Radio and TV, The Trio has released two Cassettes and a CD recording.

...as a member of THE UMKC ACCORDION ORCHESTRA under the direction of Joan C. Sommers, Kevin began in this world famous group in 1980 when he enrolled as a freshman at the University of Missouri - Kansas City.

Maintaining active alumni status with this orchestra, Kevin has served as both a regular member and also as Concert Master while in regular concerts at UMKC as well as concerts throughout the United States and overseas in places such as Russia, Estonia, Sweden, Denmark, Italy, Australia and New Zealand. The UMKC Accordion Orchestra performed at the 100th Anniversary Celebrations of the UMKC Conservatory of Music in 2006 and at the famed Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington DC in August, 2007. The orchestra celebrated their 50th Anniversary in May, 2011.
 

umkc ensemble...as a member of THE UMKC CHAMBER ACCORDION ENSEMBLE under the direction of Joan C. Sommers. After the retirment of Professor Joan C. Sommers from her role at UMKC, the larger UMKC Accordion Orchestra performs limited engagements. However, several of the members continue to perform regularly as the UMKC Chamber Accordion Ensemble. This ensemlbe of experienced musicians performs at events such as the national accordion festivals across the USA from Chicago to San Francisco. Their repertoire consists of a variety of styles from transcriptions of Classical, Popular, Film and Tango music to new Original music from composers writing specifically for the instrument or this particular ensemble.
