USA Celebrates World Accordion Day |
On May 31st, 2009, the University of Missouri - Kansas City (UMKC) Community Accordion Orchestra under the direction of Joan C. Sommers, presented an outstanding concert at the James C. Olson Performing Arts Center in Kansas City, the last registered event for the month long celebrations in honor of World Accordion Day, the 6th of May.

On May 3rd, 2009, the American Accordionists' Association (AAA) presented an afternoon of Music, Food and Fun at the Magnanini Winery in Wallkill, New York.
Dedicated to the celebration of World Accordion Day, featured artists included Mario Tacca and his wife, International Vocal Artist - Mary Mancini, Frank Toscano, Frank Carrozza, Dominic Karcic, Ray Oreggia, Lenny Feldmann, former CIA Coupe Mondiale Champion Beverly Roberts Curnow (held in 1965 in Malta), Dr. Lou Persic, Dr.
Robert Young McMahan, Emilio Magnotta and The Connecticut Accordion Orchestra under the direction of Linda Soley Reed.
This annual event raises money for the AAA Carmen Carrozza Scholarship Fund.
