  Lo scorso 3 giugno si è tenuto presso la Sala Esedra del Museo Teatrale alla Scala di Milano, un incontro/concerto con Corrado Rojac, concertista, compositore, titolare della cattedra di fisarmonica al Conservatorio Giuseppe Tartini di Trieste e il soprano Stelia Doz, storica docente di musica vocale da camera al Conservatorio di Milano. L’incontro è stato incentrato sulla figura di Giuseppe Greggiati.Nato nel mantovano nel 1793 Greggiati era un religioso molto appassionato di musica che ci ha lasciato alcuni “schemi” per la realizzazione di una fisarmonica, o meglio, di “un’armonica a mantice” che è stata fatta ai giorni nostri ricostruire proprio da Corrado Rojac del tutto fedele all’originale. Greggiati ci ha lasciato anche un Metodo per armonica a mantice databile negli anni precedenti al 1850 (con annessa raccolta di composizioni originali e trascritte) e inoltre lo stesso Rojac ha trascritto anche diversi manoscritti con le arie composte dal Greggiati. I testi delle romanze sono di Metastasio, Jacopo Vittorelli, Felice Romani e altri noti poeti messi in musica, all’epoca, dai più famosi compositori. Il lavoro di trascrizione di queste arie è confluito in un disco per l’etichetta Limen e in un format da concerto che vede Rojac affiancato dal soprano Stelia Doz, duo che tiene molti concerti in Italia e all’estero. Questo progetto è stato anche presentato lo scorso 18 marzo al Mozarteum di Salisburgo, e di particolare prestigio è stato anche questo recente concerto tenutosi presso il Museo del Teatro alla Scala di Milano. |

| L'International Agora Festival 2024 si terrà ad Adelboden, in Svizzera, dal 21 al 26 luglio 2024, organizzato dal team dell'Académie Internationale Agora. I tutor di questa 15° edizione del festival sono: • Anne Maria Hölscher (Università di Musica di Lucerna, CH) • Christine Kohler (Conservatorio di Mulhouse, FR, Conservatorio di Berna, CH) • Vincent Lhermet (Conservatorio di Parigi CNSMDP, Conservatorio di Boulogne-Billancourt, FR) • Mikko Luoma (Accademia di Musica di Turku, FI) • Sylvain Tissot (Conservatorio di Friburgo, HEMU Lausanne, CH) Presso l'Evangelisch-Reformierte Kirche (Chiesa Evangelica Riformata) di Adelboden si terranno i seguenti saggi: • 21 luglio ore 17:00: Mikko Luoma • 23 luglio ore 20:00: Anne-Maria Hölscher • 24 luglio ore 20:00: Sylvain Tissot (fisarmonica) con Laurie Hamiche (soprano), Örs Kisfaludy (voce narrante) e Brigitte Ravenel (mezzosoprano). L'Associazione Agorà è stata creata da Marie-Andrée Joerger, Vincent Lhermet e Sylvain Tissot e ha lo scopo di promuovere la fisarmonica. |

| Il Duo Croatico, formato da Martina Jembrišak (fisarmonica) e Valentin Šeremet (clarinetto e sassofono), suonerà in occasione dell'inaugurazione del nuovo edificio dell'Ambasciata croata ad Algeri, Algeria l'11 luglio 2024. Il programma, della durata di 45 minuti, prevede musiche da camera di compositori croati per clarinetto e fisarmonica, tra cui la Threepenny Opera (B. Brecht/K. Weill).   I fisarmonicisti terranno concerti e workshop in occasione del Rudolstadt Festival che si terrà a Rudolstadt, in Germania, dal 4 al 7 luglio 2024.I concerti si terranno come segue: • 5 luglio alle 15:00: Songposium si esibirà allo Stadthaus Theatre con brani dei Beatles, Gerry and The Pacemakers, Kloppo e George Martin. • 5 luglio ore 22:00: concerto dei Deitsch & Thüringer Symphoniker (Germania - foto in alto a sinistra) al Big Stage Heidecksburg, orchestra di musica folk e sinfonica classica. • 6 luglio ore 17:00: concerto dei Divanhana (Bosnia - foto in alto a destra) al City Park. Definiscono il loro sound come una fusione inventiva di jazz, folk, classica moderna e pop. Fionia Folk Brothers (Danimarca - foto sotto) suonerà per workshop e serate danzanti come segue: • 5 luglio ore 16:30: laboratorio di danza presso la Löwensaal (Sala del Leone) e serata danzante alle ore 23:00. • 6 luglio alle 17:00: laboratorio di danza al Tanzzelt (Tenda da ballo) e serata danzante alle 22:00.  The Drostdy Theatre in Stellenbosch, South Africa hosted a World Accordion Day (WAD) “Mini Expo” concert on May 5th, 2024.Photo: Leon Oosthuizen, Louis Verwey and Andrew Hodgson Photography Free Wild World (Chris Wait). Cape Town dancers formed part of the line up for the event. RSCDS Cape Town Secretary and teacher Heather Hodgson was approached by Leon Oosthuizen to collaborate and celebrate World Accordion Day. Leon Oosthuizen, president of the South African Free Reed Association (SAFRA) organized an event that brought together 12 accordionists, singers, dancers and other musicians to showcase the versatility of the accordion or trekklavier as the instrument is known in Afrikaans. Tickets included a light lunch where traditional South African cuisine like bobotie, pumpkin fritters and koeksisters were served. Between the lunch and the concert, there was a mini expo where attendees had the opportunity to view a display of accordions or participate in a ceilidh to get a feel for Scottish Country dancing. During the concert that followed Piper Caireen Alston piped the performers onto the stage to the sounds of ‘Scotland the Brave’ and the local tune ‘Sarie Marais’ which would be later played on the accordion. Dancers were Andrew and Heather Hodgson, Jon and Hilary Kerr, Mary Lister and Michelle Parker, who danced to the playing of Leon Albert Oosthuizen and Louis Verwey on accordion and Harold Schenk on piano. They danced three dances: a reel ‘Catch the wind’, a strathspey ‘Byron Strathspey’ and a jig ‘First Rain of Spring’. Other genres or styles of music on the line up included French café, classical, Tango dancing, Boeremusiek and Sesotho Famo songs. The concert ended with a performance of the song "Mama Tembu's Wedding" and the national anthem of South Africa. Perhaps other RSCDS branches and the Society would like to mark their calendars for 6th May 2025 to showcase the many talented accordionists who contribute massively to our enjoyment on the dance floor. |

| The St Audries Bay Accordion Week will be held at the St Audries Bay Holiday Club in West Quantoxhead, Somerset, England from July 5th to 12th, 2024. The event features a friendly, welcoming group of like minded people, that share the love and passion for the accordion and is packed to the brim with workshops, classes, entertainment and socialising. There is also a trade area to peruse, selling accordions, music and accessories. “The setting is out of this world! Over-looking the beautiful West Somerset coastline, and right on the edge of the stunning Quantock Hills. | “Honky-Tonk Jump” (picture above) will perform a concert entitled “Jazz with a Cowboy Hat” at the Crooners Supper Club Main Stage in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA on July 7th from 4.30pm. Their program will feature “swingin' Texas dance hall music in the tradition of Bob Wills, Milton Brown, Ernest Tubb and Spade Cooley with a sprinkling of Hank Williams and other early honky-tonk legends.” “Honky-Tonk Jump” includes Dan Newton (accordion & vocals), Richard Kriehn (fiddle &vocals), Joe Savage (pedal steel &vocals), Dan Lowinger (guitar), Vaughn Asselstine (upright bass), Dehl Gallagher(drums) and Tom Schaefer (fiddle). |

| Accordionist Milos Milivojevic will perform in concert with and the Ealing Symphony Orchestra (directed by John Gibbons) at the Hull Minster Holy Trinity Church in Hull, Yorkshire, England on July 21st, 2024, at 7pm. The concert, organised by the Ealing Symphony Orchestra will feature Igor Shamo's Accordion Concerto, Bishop Rock Overture (Doreen Carwithen), Ship's Waltz & Rumba (William Alwyn) and Scheherazade (Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov).  Cheryle Mills from the Accordion Society of Australia included an item in their latest newsletter about brothers Ben (9 years old) and Harvey (7 years old), who posed outside with their accordions for a photo to celebrate World Accordion Day (WAD).Their older brother Jack (11 years old) wanted to try an accordion so the boys gave him a quick lesson! Now he can add learning to play the accordion to his other instruments - flute for 4 years, guitar for 2 years and recorder. All three boys practise daily on their 'instrument of choice' helping each other, playing tunes together and learning different skills. They're all involved also in soccer and love the night training for their Saturday matches. Busy boys! |

  Il 49° PIF Castelfidardo 2024 si terrà dall'11 al 15 settembre a Castelfidardo subito dopo la Coupe Mondiale 2024 che si terrà sempre a Castelfidardo, dal 6 al 10 settembre 2024.Questi due importanti concorsi e festival internazionali di fisarmonica consentono a concorrenti, appassionati e sostenitori di partecipare con un unico biglietto aereo a entrambi gli eventi presso la casa della manifattura italiana di fisarmoniche. Gli eccellenti premi PIF 2024 sono progettati per attirare concorrenti da molti paesi diversi. Il Premio PIF, la categoria più prestigiosa, vede tre finalisti nella 3° fase esibirsi con un'orchestra sinfonica al completo nel Teatro Astra. Ogni finalista eseguirà la prima mondiale dell'opera commissionata composta da Veli Kujala (Finlandia). Presidente della giuria internazionale è Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi (Italia). Il PIF Concorsi e Festival di Castelfidardo è organizzato dal Comune di Castelfidardo guidato dal Sindaco Roberto Ascani, dall'Associazione Turistica Pro Loco Castelfidardo guidata da Ruben Cittadini e dal Direttore Artistico PIF 2024 Antonio Spaccarotella.
