 In 2016, the Nürnberger Akkordeonorchester celebrated its 70th Anniversary with a lot of outstanding concerts. The final highlight will be the double concert evening, Saturday 3rd December.ACCORDEONOVA 2016 - 18:00 For all avant-garde fans who are interested in new-contemporary music, the orchestra will perform 4 world premiers for accordion orchestra. 1. Stefan Hippe - Jubiläumsmusik 2.015 (Premiere) - Germany 2. Werner Heider - Locomobile II (Premiere) – Germany, Arranged: Katja und Stefan Hippe 3. Ðeni Dekleva - Radakovic - Rondomorfosa (Premiere) - Croatia 4. Pavel Trojan - Sedm Invencí – Seven Inventions (Premiere) – Czech Republic 5. Ian Watson - Clowns – United Kingdom TSCHAIKOWSKY-GALA - 20:00 The main gala concert features the most popular Russian composer of the 19th century: Pjotr Iljitsch Tschaikowsky. In the first part of the concert, the Nürnberger Akkordeonorchester (conductor: Stefan Hippe) will present: 1. "Capriccio Italien, op. 45", Arrangement: Willi Münch 2. Waltz from "Swan Lake", Arrangement: Herbert Bausewein 3. "Allegro Molto Vivace" from the Symphony "Pathétique", Arrangement: Wolfgang Pfeffer and the Nürnberger Akkordeon-Ensemble (Leader: Marco Röttig) will perform: 1.  For the occasion of Sofia Gubaidulina’s 85th birthday on October 24th, her concert "Fachwerk" for bayan, percussion and strings was performed by Friedrich Lips (soloist) and the chamber orchestra "Gnesin’s Virtuosi" with Mikhail Khokhlov, conducting. The performance was held in Moscow’s famous Tchaikovsky State Conservatory. Two days later another performance took place in Gubaidulina’s home town Kasan. The idea of "Fachwerk" (“framework“) comes from the architectural style of the same name. Traditional timber framing is the method of creating structures using heavy squared-off and carefully fitted and joined timbers with joints secured by large wooden pegs. These struts are visible on the outer sides of the house, thus giving it a distinctive look. Such house constructions are characteristic in Alpine regions: Switzerland, Austria, Alsace in France ... In this work, Sofia Gubaidulina, following the laws of this architectural style, quasi rotates the instrument from inside to out and shows maximum of possibilities based on the particular construction of the accordion: both a new understanding of the role of the standard bass manual and its connection to the free bass manual, as well as a variety of tone-glissandi, including polyphonic ... This whole constructive framework, due to the ingenuity and imagination of the composer, develops into a colorful emotional image and has a strong effect on the listener. CD available online.  The Trophée National de l’Accordéon was hosted in Semur-en-Auxois over the weekend of 19th and 20th November and brought together accordionists from all over France to compete in the various catagories of competition.Organised by Frédéric Deschamps, special persons in attendance included Michel Pruvot, Raymond Bodell (President Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes - CIA), Daniel Jurquet (President European Music Academy - EMA) ) and Jacques Mornet. From the 90 competitors who had qualified for these finals in the various catagories the 1st place prizewinner of the National Trophée 2016 was Jean Baptiste Baudin and that of the Musette Trophée National Michel Pruvot 2016 was Romain Pruvost. The jury included: Michel Pruvot, Nathalie Bernat, Nathalie Boucheix, Jérémie Buirette, Claude Carron, Michele Chabod, Guillaume Fric, Jean Ribeiro as well as Alexander Bodell – the winner of the Trophee National 2015 and 2nd place prizewinner in both the 2016 CIA Coupe Mondiale and CMA Trophée Mondial Junior Virtuoso category. Concert performers included Kristap Ginters (Latvia) and Egle Barkteviciuté (Lithuania). |

 Video 1: Saudade Ártica composed and performed by Gorka HermosaVideo 2: Encore: Idiaren composed and performed by Gorka Hermosa Last week-end, composer, teacher and author Gorka Hermosa (Spain) gave masterclasses at the Conservatory of Fribourg and a concert on Saturday night in the “Chapelle Saint-Justin”, Fribourg. Gorka Hermosa had a very nice manner of teaching his compositions to students, from young accordionists through to university level players. The concert of compositions by Gorka Hermosa was memorable for the enthusiastic audience reaction to his music and especially the many young children accordionists and parents who attended and clearly enjoyed.
