| The Budapest Café Orchestra can be heard on the BBC Radio 3 programme ‘In Tune’ on Wednesday April 26th, 4.30pm. The Budapest Café Orchestra play powerful and driving folk-based music from Eastern Europe, including Balkan styles, Hungarian Czardas, tender Russian folk melodies, dances from Romania and Moldavia, bitter sweet Jewish laments, and compositions of the group’s own making plus a few surprises along the way… The music evokes vivid images of Tzigane fiddle maestros, Budapest café life and gypsy campfires – good enough to make you want to book a holiday along the Danube! The members of the Budapest Café Orchestra are Eddie Hession – accordion, Chris Garrick – violin, Adrian Zolotuhin – guitar, and Kelly Cantlon – bass. ‘In Tune’, presented every weekday by Sean Rafferty and Suzy Klein, offers news, views and an eclectic choice of live and recorded music, plus developments from the arts world.
