| Du fait de l’incertitude liée à la pandémie de COVID-19, la 17ième compétition nationale d’accordéon pour solistes et musique de chambre édition 2021, aura lieu en ligne cette année. Cet évènement pour accordéon solistes et musique de chambre qui est organisé par la NOVAM (Nederladse Organisatie Voor Accordeon en Mondharmonica) se tiendra à Amsterdam aux Pays-Bas le 14 mars 2021. La clôture des inscriptions est le 1er juin 2021. Toutes les vidéos sont visionnées par un jury indépendant. Il n’y a pas de prix cette année, mais la possibilité de gagner une masterclass ou un concert et tous les participants recevront un rapport personnel du jury et un memento. | Le quintet Beltango Quintet de Belgrade en Serbie donnera son premier concert en ligne intitulé “Una Milonga Mas”, le 13 février 2021 à 21h00 CET. Détails sur le poster ci-dessus. Le directeur Aleksandar Nikolic écrit : "Nous sommes peu à peu dans une situation où notre public et notre communauté nous manquent et où l’on doit faire face à des soucis d’ordre économique. Nous n’avons pas trouvé la solution pour nous sortir de cette situation mais il faut faire quelque chose – faire quelque chose est mieux que de ne rien faire. C’est pourquoi nous souhaitons jouer de la musique pour vous, de notre studio privé dans un immeuble résidentiel de Belgrade, avec de la musique de notre répertoire sur un thème précis. Que peut-on jouer le 13 février 2021, la veille de la Saint Valentin, si ce n’est sur le thème de l’amour ? Soutenez-nous dans ce projet en partageant cet évènement et en achetant des billets. Transformer votre salon en une salle de danse pour deux ou avec votre balai, ou ayez juste du plaisir à écouter ces vieilles milongas. Le quintet Beltango a donné plus de 1000 concerts dans plus de 30 pays. Il comprend Aleksandar Nikolic (bandonéon), Ivana Nikolic (piano & voix), Antonija Barna (violon), Bogdan Pejic (guitare) and Petar Holik (contrebasse). Ils ont un répertoire varié de musique tango dont des compositions d’Aleksandar Nikolic et d’autres membres du groupe. |

| L’accordéoniste de 11 ans, Rachael Xu (Chine) a annoncé sa décision de dédier ses recettes de sa tournée asiatique estival, au conseil international de musique. Sa tournée doit commencer en juin 2021 et l’amènera en Chine, au Japon, en Corée, et à Singapour. Influencée par son père Lin Xu, un accordéoniste virtuose lui-même et ancien champion de la compétition de l’American Accordionists Association, Rachael a commencé à jouer de l’accordéon à l’âge de 7 ans et a rapidement montré un talent exceptionnel, en obtenant le niveau le plus haut (niveau 10) à l’examen de capacité musical en accordéon de sa province, étant la plus jeune personne à passer un examen de ce niveau. Sous la tutelle de Grayson Masefield (plusieurs fois champion du monde), Rachael a rapidement étendu son répertoire et a participé à de nombreuses compétitions à un niveau national et international, avec une moyenne de 30 évènement par an. | The organ and harpsichord department and the department of bayan and accordion Gnessin RAM in Moscow announce the III All-Russian competition "Baroque Music on Bayan and Accordion" will be held at the Gnessin RAM Organ Hall in March 2021. The competition is open to players of all ages will be held in 2 rounds and include works by Bach in both rounds in addition to other Baroque composers. The competition jury will include teachers from the RAM Gnesin departments of organ/harpsichord and bayan/accordion. The winner of the First Prize is invited to participate in a festive concert dedicated to the All-Russian Day of Bayan, Accordion and Harmonica, which will be held on March 20th, 2021 in the Great Hall of RAM. Applications must be received by March 10th, 2021 to the Dean of RAM Gnesin or by email: vlassovamaria@mail.ru |

 It is with great regret that NAA President Norman Seaton has had to announce that the March 2021 Convention due to be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dallas, Texas is cancelled due to Covid-19.The convention team will begin preparations for the 2022 event in November 2021. |

| Video: The K Trio performs at the 1999 AAA Festival. Selections include: “Jolly Caballero”, “Carnival of Venice”, “Accordiana” excerpts. Thanks to Cory Pesaturo who found the tape in his home movies. His father had filmed the event. Sadly, Julie Kasprzyk Cardona, 72, of North Haven, USA passed away unexpectedly on January 15th, 2021 at her home. She was a member of the K Trio, AAA, American Accordionists' Association and the Connecticut Accordion Association. The K Trio performed all over the United States and were truly a trio of champions. Siblings Mary Kasprzyk Tokarski, Julie Kasprzyk Cardona and Walter Kasprzyk performed nationwide in competitions and concerts as youngsters. As young adults, life moved them to different areas of the United States! After 25 years apart, they all relocated to Connecticut again, and soon after began performing as The "K" Trio.  The Royal Academy of Music in London has announced “Covid-19 will not stop the accordion department’s chamber music concert” on February 18th, 2021 at 1pm.Thanks to technology we can still enjoy an accordion concert online from the David Josefowitz Recital Hall of the Royal Academy of Music. The concert will feature performances by the students who have had a tough year negotiating restrictions whilst trying to keep the studying time productive at the Academy. As part of the “200 PIECES” project, students will perform new works by Des Oliver, Howard Skempton and Vykintas Baltakas, alongside other compositions for the instrument. This concert is free to watch online. |

| A concert to celebrate the 80th birthday of José Domingos de Morais (12th February 1941 – 23rd July 2013), better known as Dominguinhos will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on February 19th, 2021 at 7pm. Dominguinhos was a popular Brazilian composer, accordionist and singer. The event will be celebrated with performances by Orquestra Sanfônica do Rio de Janeiro (picture below) and special guests. Tracey will entertain as a soloist and with her group Bonjour Madame (picture below), which includes guitarist & vocalist Sonia Wilson and Nigel Gavin. Their program will include Sous le ciel, La Mer, La Vie en Rose, Le Temps de l'Amour and many more.
