Inger Murray Passes Away - UKby Harley Jones |
  Inger Murray (1944 - 2020) wife of accordionist Owen Murray (Professor of accordion at the Royal Academy of Music in London), passed away this week.Inger Murray was a graduate in psychology and wrote the book “Get Rid of Your Stage Fright and Performance Anxiety”. She developed a special concept for musicians after having studied for many years, the problems performing musicians face in their work. She had travelled extensively with her musician husband Owen Murray and that had given her the opportunity to observe professional musicians working in highly stressful situations and the problems they face. This research also included studying the pressures students face during conservatory education and in examination and competition situations. Inger also held regular workshops at the Royal Academy of Music in London, and the Royal Danish Academy of Music. Danish Music Conservatory and she had students from the Rhythmic Music Conservatory. She has worked with young musicians in Croatia, Spain and Ireland. In addition, she has worked with the young musicians on The National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain.
