Martynas Levickis (Lituania) ha ricevuto il premio Opus Klassik Instrumentalist of the Year 2023 in Germania questa settimana, per il suo nuovo album "Autograph". L'Opus Klassik è il premio per la musica classica in Germania. La cerimonia di premiazione si terrà il 7 ottobre 2023 nella Chiesa Elisabetta e l'8 ottobre 2023 nella Konzerthaus di Berlino. Il prossimo concerto di Martynas si terrà il 7 luglio 2023 alle 19:00 presso il castello di Hohen Luckow nel Meclemburgo, in Germania, nell'ambito del Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Martynas suonerà in un sestetto di fisarmonica con Siniša Ljubojevic, Wieslaw Ochwat, Kamila Olas, Maris Rozenfelds e Ðorde Vasiljevic. In programma una varietà di opere di Tchaikovsky per sestetto di fisarmonica. |

 Video: Somewhere Over the Rainbow - Grayson Masefield. Un bellissimo arrangiamento jazz per fisarmonica free-bass di Joseph Natoli, registrato nell'ottobre 2018 presso la Bartell Music Academy di Spokane, USA.Il festival Accordionists & Teachers Guild, International (ATG) 2023 si terrà dal 19 al 23 luglio 2023 a Lisle, Chicago, USA, Gli artisti in cartellone provengono da tutto il mondo, come Grayson Masefield dalla Nuova Zelanda, che presenterà in anteprima l'ultima composizione di Gorka Hermosa (foto a sinistra) intitolata "Meditatio". Tra gli altri artisti figurano il Duo Kollektiv (Austria), l'Orchestra Polyphonia (Isola della Riunione), Nikolay Bine (Canada), Stas Venglevski (USA) e il Community Accordion Chamber Ensemble (UMKC), diretto da Joan Sommers (USA). Quest'anno Kevin Friedrich sarà affiancato dall'organista Tony Payne (professore associato di musica, direttore dei programmi speciali e delle Artist Series del Wheaton College), da Ron Dake (fisarmonica basso) e da Nathaniel Holman (percussioni) nell'esecuzione di un'opera intitolata "Dargaville Impressions" del noto fisarmonicista e compositore inglese Ian Watson. L'opera in due movimenti è stata commissionata da Kevin Friedrich in onore della ristrutturazione dell'organo storico della Holy Trinity Anglican Church della sua città natale, Dargaville, in Nuova Zelanda. | Il Festival della fisarmonica di Cotati 2023 si terrà presso La Plaza Park, La Plaza, Cotati, California, USA il 19 e 20 agosto 2023. A partire da mezzogiorno di sabato 19 agosto, lo Zydeco Dance Party si apre allo Spanky's, adiacente al parco. Non si balla solo all'interno del club, ma c'è molto spazio anche all'esterno sull'ampio marciapiede adiacente al club, che era pieno di ballerini l'anno scorso. Mark St. Mary, premiato come "Best Zydeco Band" dalla Bay Area Blues Society, sarà l'atto di apertura e il "Delta King" non manca mai di portare il meglio della musica tradizionale zydeco della Louisiana.   Accordionists entertained at the Glastonbury Festival which was held at Worthy Farm in Glastonbury, Somerset, England, UK from June 21st to 25th, 2023.London-based Russian accordionist Igor Outkine (picture above left) performed as well as the Good Habits duo, which features accordionist Pete Shaw and singer-cellist Bonnie Schwarz (picture above right). This year’s festival had over 210,000 attendees plus included over 40 hours of television coverage which aired on several BBC channels and over 85 hours of live radio coverage. |

| Parno Drom will perform at the Seattle Polish Festival, held at the Seattle Centre Armory & Mural Amphitheatre in Seattle, Washington, USA on July 8th, 2023 from midday. The group, which features Bob Kozak (accordion & vocals), Katya Kiselyova (guitar & vocals), Lubov Plett (violin) and Elizabeth Lesztak (dancer), perform Eastern European Romani (Gypsy) style music from Russia, Poland, Hungary and beyond. They sing in the original language of each song including the Romany language of the Gypsies. The Polish Festival Seattle is a family-oriented event for the Greater Seattle multicultural community.  The St Audries Bay Accordion Week will be held in St Audries Bay, West Quantoxhead, Nr Minehead, Somerset, England from July 14th to 21st, 2023.The event features a week of professional orchestra workshops, master classes, private lessons, concerts, ceilidh and general bellows related fun. Workshops include: • Musical Improv and Playing by Ear by Andrew Purkiss, which will focus on listening skills, improvisation and playing by ear. This will include playing without music using a simple tune to create and arrange together. • Technique and Bellows Work by Sammie Peckover-Mitchell, which will incorporate some simple exercises with bellows work to brush up your technique. • Ways to Approach Performance Anxiety by Caroline Hussey. If you’re an anxious player please come along and talk about what happens when we’re feeling anxious, and ways we can prepare for and cope with nerves when performing. • Introduction to the B-System Accordion by Lisa-Lee Leslie who will be offering the opportunity to come and learn all about the B-system accordion.   Amélie Dénarié (picture above left) & François Heim (picture above right) will run a Diatonic Accordion Workshop in Hamlet of Chalap, Senechas, France from July 16th to 22nd, 2023, organised by the Balagan Company.The workshop is for all levels except beginners and will cover right hand chords on different rhythms, how to diversify the left hand, independence of the hands, the use of the air valve, the effects of bellows and the different touches to learn how to evolve a melody according to your level and help you find your interpretation. I Collaboratori che hanno condotto le interviste sono Adele Pirozzolo e Andrea Di Giacomo.L'intervista a Romuald Lefebvre è ora pubblicata a cura di Andrea Di Giacomo. Romuald Lefebvre si è esibito con l'Orchestra Filarmonica di Radio France nel 2017. Insegna anche al Conservatorio di Calais e Boulogne-Sur-Mer. Interessato allo sviluppo della fisarmonica, fu uno dei fondatori dell'Association des Professeurs de Haut de France. Ha registrato 2 album da solista, "Eclectique" nel 2013 e "Toccata" nel 2014.
