 'L'uomo, la fisarmonica, e la leggenda' è un libro unico e monumentale, che contiene tutti e 30 composizioni classiche e trascrizioni di Yehuda Oppenheimer, il fisarmonicista più compiuto di Israele. Il libro include anche una breve biografia oltre a numerose fotografie. Il libro è di grandi dimensioni,copertina rigida e ha 250 pagine. No catalogo: oybook prezzo è di € 30 o US $ equivalente più spese di spedizione, disponibile on-line.Yehuda Oppenheimer (nato in Germania nel 1925), salito alla ribalta come fisarmonicista per concerti nel dopoguerra per diventare il fisarmonicista e compositore più compiuto di Israele. La sua storia di vita è notevole, implicando il sottrarsi ai nazisti nell'occupata Amsterdam durante gli anni della guerra, nascondendosi in una soffitta. La sua storia era molto simile a quella di Anne Frank, ma con un lieto fine. Dall'età di 6 suonava la fisarmonica, ed è stato completamente autodidatta, anche se quando è arrivato in Palestina dopo la guerra ha studiato violino al Conservatorio di Gerusalemme. Ha poi scoperto che poteva guadagnarsi da vivere suonando la fisarmonica nelle case di convalescenza e alberghi. Ha fatto il giro del paese facendo questo e guadagnando soldi suonando per strada. Durante la Guerra d'indipendenza del 1948, a 23 anni Yehuda era nell'esercito ad intrattenere i suoi compagni di truppa. Più tardi Yehuda Oppenheimer divenne concertista leader, compositore e maestro della fisarmonica, e ha anche fondato un'orchestra di fisarmonica con la quale ha lavorato per trent'anni. Ugualmente a casa suonando musica leggera e classica, Yehuda ha fatto molte registrazioni.  Peter Soave ha eseguito la prima mondiale di un nuovo concerto per fisarmonica di Max Simoncic con l'Orchestra Sinfonica di Stockton, diretto da Peter Jaffe, il Giovedi, 10 Novembre e Sabato 12 Novembre presso l'Auditorium Atherton, San Joaquin Delta College di Stockton, California.  Dal 9 al 12 Novembre 2011 a Vilnius, la capitale della Lituania, era piena di una contrastante muscia di fisarmonica da una varietà di artisti e generi. I concerti si sono svolti in luoghi diversi della città, organizzati dall'Associazione Fisarmonicisti lituana, il cui Presidente è Raimondas Sviackevicius, anche il direttore artistico del festival.Questo festival annuale della fisarmonica è iniziato con un insolito tipo di musica. Una banda musicale "Gurzuf", con il fisarmonicista Egor Zabelov e il batterista Artem Zalessky, dalla Bielorussia, ha tenuto un concerto mozzafiato. Una sala piena di ascoltatori sono rimasti impressionati dall'energia della band e ha avuto un nuovo punto di vista del rock,sperimentale, musica fusion eseguiti alla fisarmonica. Pietro Adragna, provenienti dall' Italia, recente vincitore di numerosi premi al 1 Coupe Mondiale 2011 a Shanghai, in Cina, ha rappresentato la musica della fisarmonica Variety durante il festival. La sua performance soprattutto artistico e virtuoso ha fatto una grande impressione sul suo pubblico. La banda di musicistai Lituani 4Tango ha effettuato un nuovo programma di musica di Piazzolla con il violinista lituano, Dzeraldas Bidva, per un pubblico tutto-esaurito. Il culmine del festival è stato un bel concerto di Frank Marocco, dagli Stati Uniti, con musicisti jazz locali Arturas Chalikovas (chitarra), Eugenijus Kanevicius (basso), e Dario Rudis (batteria). Due standing ovation da parte del pubblico e la capacità di una performance tecnicamente brillante e musicalmente superba - che era la fine del XIV Festival Internazionale di Fisarmonica di Vilnius 2011.  In occasione del 80 ° compleanno di Sofia Gubaidulina,la festa 'a Sofia - con amore' si è tenuta a Mosca per onorare il suo grande contributo al mondo della musica di oggi. Quattro concerti - nella Sala della Camera di Mosca, Sala Filarmonica, la Tchaikovsky Concert Hall-, la Casa dei Compositori, e la Sala Grande del Conservatorio, sono stati organizzati per mostrare il grande ingresso del compositore alla musica contemporanea.Poster a destra, grande formato poster gubaidulina2012. Oltre a opere per pianoforte, violoncello, chitarra, strumenti a fiato, percussioni e altri, il bayan è molto presente nel programma straordinario di questo festival. Il 24 novembre Iosif Puritz eseguirà 'De Profundis' per bayan solista.  La Confederazione Mondiale de l'Accordeon (CMA) cerca costantemente di espandersi e ha fatto ogni sforzo per essere globale dalla riorganizzazione del suo comitato esecutivo nel 2005. Molte nuove delegazioni hanno aderito alla CMA come la Lituania, Nuova Zelanda, Cile, Cina e tra questi, gli Stati Uniti, che saranno ospiti del Trophée Mondial 2012 a Spokane, Washington, 23-27 ottobre 2012.Questa è la prima volta che il Trophée Mondial è stato nel continente nord-americano grazie al talento e alla determinazione del nostro amico e delegato CMA per gli Stati Uniti, Patricia Bartell e il suo team dedicato.  New Hampshire Accordion Association Life Member Nils Lundin was surprised by a celebratory concert organized to honor his 90th birthday, on October 30th 2011. Despite an impending freak blizzard, many intrepid audience members ventured to Accordion Connection LLC in Gilmanton, NH, on October 29th for a special concert, featuring a ‘mystery’ guest. The special ‘mystery’ guest was Nils Fläcke, who flew in specially from Sweden, and whose performance and personality proved to be a big hit with all present. Nils Fläcke’s program included stylized arrangements of Nils Lundin's ‘American Wooden Shoe Polka’ and ‘Lilla Carols Vals’, and his technical prowess, including a great left hand technique, was most impressive. All present were thoroughly entertained and hope to hear him again. |

| Si è svolta il 18 e 19 novembre 2011 presso il Centro studi musicali Nuove Armonie di Paola (CS), un importante avvenimento didattico che ha visto una grande partecipazione in termini di utenza e crescita artistica dei diversi studenti che hanno partecipato alla masterclass di fisarmonica Classica e Moderna tenuta da Antonio Spaccarotella. Durante le diverse lezioni si sono trattate importanti tematiche come: studio del tocco, preparazione alle competizioni internazionali, studi mnemonici, propensione e personalizzazione di un programma. Entusiasti tutti gli studenti di ogni fascia d’età che hanno partecipato alla master. Durante la Masterclass di Antonio Spaccarotella, si sono create diverse aree di lavoro sia collettive che individuali, importanti partecipazioni anche dall’estero con il nuovo studente Brasiliano Mahatma Costa venuto in Calabria in occasione della masterclass internazionale e intraprendere un nuovo percorso didattico. Il Centro Studi Musicali (Nuove Armonie), attualmente è uno dei più rinomati e moderni poli didattici dove si svolgono attività legate alla fisarmonica del sud Italia, i numerosi iscritti che giornalmente frequentano i corsi, usufruiscono di una moltitudine di servizi, dai più piccoli con la prima classe di propedeutica di fisarmonica diatonica, classe di fisarmonica digitale Roland V-Accordion, nonché le varie sfaccettature stilistiche, con lezioni di fisarmonica Classica, Moderna, Jazz. In questo anno raggiunti grandi risultati, durante le recenti competizioni Internazionali, Alessandro Guglielmi 1°Place Trofeo Mondiale (Junior Varietè Diatonic), Simone Sciammarella 1°Place International Competition of SPOLETO (Junior Classica) e 1°Place International UK Championchip (Blackpool-Inghilterra) 2011 (Int.Classica).  The annual Autumn Accordion Festival at Caister, Norfolk, was first held in 1986 by Malcolm Gee. In February 1997 Malcolm Gee died unexpectedly, and the festival’s future was suddenly thrown into doubt. Fortunately, Caister was rescued when Robert and Loreta Rolston took over as organizers, and the report below by Gary Blair appeared in the Accordions Worldwide news for November 28th 1997. The present day version of this festival took place last week at Seacroft, just two miles from its original home at Caister, organized by Heather Smith. CAISTER ACCORDION FESTIVAL - ENGLAND Contributed by Gary Blair The Caister Accordion Festival was held from November 13th to 16th and organised by the Accordion Times & News, England. The Opening Night concert (Thursday 13th) was an accordion club type night with the accordionists performing if they so wished. Pino di Modugno from Italy was asked to play as a taster for Saturday night. He was absolutely dynamite!!! His programme started off with ‘Dizzy Fingers’ (at a tempo I would have thought impossible!) followed by a couple of other well known tunes. Friday's concert started with The Weaver Valley Band, followed by a great duo called Amarylis and Gary Blair's band. After an Interval, we were privileged to hear Julie Best and Ron Hodgson, followed by Pat Gray from Aberdeen playing a variety of music. Then the Star of Friday's concert, Magnus Johnnsson (only 19 years old and won the Frosini Grand Prix which had 6,000 competitors!!) performed. His programme included a lot of Frosini's works, and he played brilliantly. Saturday's concert was also superb with the Ronmar Accordion Orchestra, Harry Hussey and his brilliant Jazz Band, and a solo spot from Julie Best. Then it was the star of the show again, Pino di Modugno who was now playing on MIDI accordion. He started off with a Strauss medley then played 'Uridium’,' by Astor Piazzola (this was unbelievable!). He then totally blew my mind by performing ‘Bumble Bee Boogie’ as good as anyone I have heard. My Band then finished off with a ceilidh and the highlight for me was playing 'The Flying Scotsman' with TWO drummers! |

On Friday November 25th, 9pm, Nick Ariondo performs with opera legend Placido Domingo on PBS Telecast, ‘Great Performances’. Nick performs onstage in the wedding scene (end of Act 2) with opera legend Placido Domingo in the world premiere of L.A. Opera’s ‘IL Postino’, by Daniel Catan.   ‘Arctic Accents – Sounds of Finland 2011’ - is a season of music from Finland in the Benelux countries of Belgium, Netherlands, and Luxembourg, in November and December. The Samuraï, Maria Kalaniemi, Värttinä and Kimmo Pohjonen, and Uniko are all featured in the Arctic Accents program.Accordionist Maria Kalaniemi is on tour with her trio, which includes Olli Varis and Eero Grundström. The Maria Kalaniemi Trio were on stage on November 17th at deSingel (Antwerp, BE), November 18th at Muziekpublique (Brussels, BE), and on November 19th at RASA (Utrecht, NL). Accordion super group The Samuraï has roots all around Europe. Besides Finland’s Markku Lepistö, the quintet features Bruno Le Tron (France), Didier Laloy (Belgium), Riccardo Tesi (Italy) and David Munnelly (Ireland). Samuraï will do an extensive tour of Belgium from November 17th to 26th. Accordionist Kimmo Pohjonen and sample wizard Samuli Kosminen join forces with the Proton String Quartet in the astonishing contemporary project Uniko, built around accordion and sampling. Uniko is on stage at Ancienne Belgique (Brussels) on December 5th. But it’s not only accordions: Värttinä take their new line-up of three singers and three acoustic musicians as well as their brisk tunes to Belgium just before the holidays.  Accordionist Lácides Romero, from Colombia, performs in concert on November 30th, 6.30pm, with the National Marimba Concert Orchestra (MD Lester Godinez), at the Ciudad Antigua, Guatemala. The concert is organised by Fladem, the Latin American Seminar on Music Education.The concert program includes: Malvaloca, Chatica Linda, Contrastes, Escorregando, Canadian Capers, El Grato Momento, Ave María Gallo, La Kalunga, Brejeiro, Catalina, La Kalunga, Brejeiro, Catalina. Lácides Romero, born in Lorica, Colombia in 1948, studied piano, accordion and organ with his father, Professor Tiburcio Romero. Later he studied piano in the Instituto de Bellas Artes in Medellín.
